The manual doesn't tell me anything about that blinking red light at the icemaker on/off switch. It's not producing ice, the water line isn't frozen, the freezer is good and cold, there is no ice jammed in the storage bin or dispenser parts. Help!

as above
I had a blinking light, two flashes then pause, I did two things, not sure which worked, blow dryer to the black tube, and took a Q-tip to the sensor eyes (on both side of the walls), after a few minutes of trial and error, the light went out and I heard the water from the fridge, so hoping this would solve the ice maker issue!

We have had an ongoing problem with the water line to the ice maker in our KitchenAid Side x Side Refrigerator. Is there anything we can install to prevent this from recurring?
Thanks.

Try insulating the water line and moving it away from whatever is causing it to freeze.

We have a KSRA25CNSS00 Serial # SR2952261 that makes a loud knocking noise accompanied by rattling for cycles of 15-20 sec at random intervals ~twice per hour (varies). It started this after the first year of use. Sounds like a piece of junk, is annoying, and an embarrassment when visitors hear it. It hasn't quit functioning properly, just noise. I see elsewhere on the web that others have had the exact same problem, but I haven't read anywhere that the problem was fixed somehow. I only hear that Kitchenaid denies this is an abnormality. No exaggeration, it's loud. You can hear it anywhere in our 3200 sq ft house. Many have posted they've had multiple tech visits with no solution. My guess is it's because the noise is the compressor rocking and beating against the frame. It's probably a design-inherant issue that's difficult to fix.
If anyone knows of how this has been repaired, I would appreciate your input.
Hmmm. Makes sure it is not the fan inside the freezer. The compressor is not capable of loud noise since it is sealed and sits on rubber mount. The knocking might be due to the fan blade hitting ice build up. You should not see any frost in a freezer. If there is frost, you can defrost completely then set the fridge to a lower setting.

drip pan is full of water and not evaporating
if the condesor fan motor was ever changed you could have a wrong rotation motor on it. Hot Air should blow across drain pan not **** cool air across pan

Saddle valve on water line to refridgerator won't shut off water supply , is the valve shot or is it me .
If you can not shut the valve off then most likely it has calcium build up in it. I would recommend shutting off the water supply at the angle stop. Then removing the saddle valve and see what is going on. If it is built up with calcium you may be able to clean it depending on how shot it is. If you are unable to clean it then a new one is not that expensive and they are easy enough to replace

I have a burning smell coming from inside my kitchenaid superba side by side fridge. It smells like a burning plastic. The fridge still turns on and keeps things cool, but it started to kick out that burning smell yesterday and I can't find out what it might be. Any help?
Remove the power plug and move your fridge forward. Now look at the rear bottom side of the fridge to see if there are any parts that heats up. You can trace this to the smell emitting from the heated part and confirm. It can be the motor, contactor or the defrost timer.

The ice maker is no longer filling with water
Ice maker stopped making
ice. For this problem you have check few things. First thing, is the water
filling in the ice maker chamber and then ice maker not making ice? Or, the
water is not filling in the ice maker chamber so it's not making ice. If the water
is not filling in the ice maker chamber then it's clear that ice is not getting
made due to no water in the chamber. For no water filling, the problem is
either water supply valve turned off so water is not filling. Turn on the water
supply and it will fill. But if the water supply is turned on then the other
possibility is ice blockage in the water fill tube. There is a tube from which
the water runs and enters the ice maker chamber. If this tube is blocked then
water will not enter the chamber. The tube needs to be defrosted, by using hair
dryer. This procedure melts the ice collected in
the tube and water starts running again. But if water fill
tube is completely clear and no ice blockage or any other blockage. Then other
possibility is water valve at the back of ice maker unit. This water valve is
for letting the water in the ice maker. The water valve open only for
7 seconds and in this time the water fills in the ice maker chamber and then
water valve closes and the same procedure runs again in the next
water filling cycle.------- For your information I will mention that there are
two valves. One is the main valve the back of the fridge section. This main
valve lets the water enter the refrigerator and other valve is at the back
of ice-maker section. This other valve lets the water to enter the
ice maker. In most of the cases the fault is water valve at the back of ice
maker section. ------------- The other above possibilities which I gave you is
water not filling in ice-maker chamber so it's not making ice. But
now consider that water is filling in ice maker chamber but it's
still not making ice. Then the problem is ice maker unit itself. This unit is
controlled by main board. But in most cases if water is filling the ice maker
but it's not making ice then its faulty ice maker unit. So see if the problem
is water not entering the ice maker then the water fill tube is frosted by ice
or the water valve at the back of ice maker is faulty. Replace the valve.

my kitchenaid superba refrigerator icemaker won't make ice any more. I have been able to get it to make 1-2 batches by wiggling the prongs that stick up, but now nothing seems to make it work. Is there anything short of hiring a repairman to get the ice maker working again?

Ice bin will not release from freezer door; not despensing ice either.
This units are prone to do this. Best way for me to tell you is to work ice bucket side to side. Then shut the freezer door and switch between the cube and crushed ice. Tap the dispenser lever just long enough to engage motor. Basically you are rocking the coupling back and fourth in the auger assembly. Will come loose but may take a bit.
