If you still have the guarantee , then take it back to the buyer and replace it with a newer one and before you leave the shop try them there ! If that is not possible i'm asking you : What is your operating system and which service pack you got ? I think WinXp with service pack2 should solve the problem .

Not all Creative Lab speakers are the same. Which model do you have?
Do the speakers use 110V AC power, or do you have a "brick" of an AC adapter, to change the voltage, and to convert AC to DC?

I brought my T20 Creative Speakerset back to the shop. The technician could not directly trace any cause of problem. 'Probably a broken transistor'.

As the insurance time is 1 to 3 years (strange notification on info) the shop gave me new one.

The broken set will be sent bach to the import supplier.

By the way. I am little disturbed, that your Problem Solving Site is
no user site but more or less commercial site that asks money for solving and at the same time creates a solving knowlegde bank for free on account of the same costumer.

A TRS connector (tip, ring, sleeve) also called an audio jack, phone plug, jack plug, stereo plug, mini-jack, or mini-stereo, and more recently MP3 jack is a common audio connector. It is cylindrical in shape, typically with three contacts, although sometimes with two (a TS connector) or four (a TRRS connector).

So, you are correct. Different names but same stuff.

Download the latest driver from Creative Zen Website. Then follow the instructions on how to force install the driver on your system:

1. Look for the icon named "Computer" or "My Computer" and right click on it and select properties, this will open a window named "System Properties".
2. In the system properties windows click on the tab named "Hardware", and Select "Device Manager".
3. On this window you will see all the devices installed on your computer, look for the device not working properly (printer, dvd rom, keyboard, camera, mp3 player, etc), if there is a bigger problem, more likely you will see a cross by it, or an alert stating there is an issue with it.
4. Right click on the device you where having problems with and select uninstall, it will give you a confirmation, press OK
5. Once the device disappeared from the list, click on the menu bar icon that looks like a computer with a magnifying glass this will cause for the system to scan for any devices not registered and will force the re installation of the device.

if you still have the usb cable of your creative zen, you can try to connect it to a computer. if it's detected properly, try to wait atleast 5 minutes for it to charge, if after 5minutes and it won't turn on. the board of your mp3 might be damaged.

flip the unit over and look for a small pinhole put a paperclip or small pin in there and press the button that should reset the unti and unfreeze it

First test the "non working side" with the speaker which is on the good side. Hook it up on that side and turn on the system. Make sure to go from left to right to left on the volume control pop-up or in the control panel, if it is Windows.

If the test above indicates that you get no sound, then the sound card is suspect.

If this is a removable card, it may be possible to put another sound card in.

It is sure to be the audio driver. You did not mention the brand of your pc or sound card. You need to download the audio driver from the manufacturer's site. It should be easy to find the drivers for Vista once you go to the manufacturers site and look for your PC model.

Creative Labs has always been tough about making their sound drivers available. One trick I found was to go to www.hp.com or www.dell.com and look for creative lab sound drivers there. I have not had any luck getting them from Creative Labs usually I end up purchasing a inexpensive new sound card.

1.Go to Device Manager (Right click on My computer and select properties, then click on Hardware tab then click on Device Manger) 2. Uninstall the USB that represents your Speakers (then follow the prompts) 3. Restart your PC and it will automatically add your USB speakers.

Go to Control Panel | Sound and Audio Devices | Advance (On Speaker settings) | Selects Your speaker Configuration.

If not work, check the Sound Card Software for properties.

Hi curt here I have a hppaviliona636n desk top runing vista and I have the on board sound disabled. as it dose not seam o work and i do not have the orignal disk wth the drivers on it . how everI put my sound blaster live 5.1 sb0100 pci card in and down loaded the drivers for this card and installed them tem form a file on the desk top how ever this also did not make this card fireand I wonder if maybe I am missing a jumper of the sound blaster board and cant seam to find ajunper lay out for tiswhat cn I do to check for jumpers on both the sound blasterboard and the hp mother board .? and also do the drivers have to be saved on a cd or a 1.44 flopie disk befor they will load or will the sound drivers load from the desk top location?? my email address if you need it is [email protected] thank you Curt. tucson
