Xerox XC1020 White Bands running across copied page 4" apart

The metering blades in those cartridges go bad and do not allow the ink to get to the page. Look at the front of the toner cartridge, is should be a solid consistent black all the way across, if its streaky, not consistent all the way across replace the toner.
The other problem could be a dirty laser. If replacing the toner doesnt work let me know, I will tell you how to remove and clean the laser.

Xerox copycentre c20 fades out on one side of copies

If the scanner will not move you it is jammes on the scanner lock latch. Shut the machine off. Look up in the ares where the copies come out, between the paper tray and the scanner. Look under there, you will see a green latch, about 2 inches long and maybe a half an inch wide. Its the only green item on the bottom of the scanner. Push that latch in toward the back of the machine, then pull it out toward yourself until you feel it snap into place.
That can easily be moved when reaching in to take your copies out of the tray. You can put a piece of tape over it to keep it in place. Orrrrrrr, if you want. when you lift the document feeder, there is that 1 inch strip of glass held in with 2 phillips screws. Remove those screws, take that **** glass out, DO THIS WITH THE MACHINE OFF by the way.... you will see that green latch inside on the bottom. You may have to slide the scanner head out of the way a little bit. When you look at the green latch, you will see 2 plastic clips on the sides, just compress those tabs and pop the latch out of the bottom. Make sure you note the direction you take it out, because you want to flip it around . There is a tab on the latch that will catch better when it it flipped around, You can also just break off the hooked part of the plastic and snap it back in.
You only need that latch for shipping or if your going to send the machine on a ship across the ocean soon. I sort of doubt your going to do that .... Its just a shipping latch, no big deal to modify it .
That should resolve your problem. If not let me know. There are other things we can try,but if the scanner is not moving, there is a 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 percent chance the latch is just out of position.

Our company has a Xerox

It could be a couple of things. Either the scanner or the laser. We can eliminate the scanner by you printing out a report. Either the meter read report or system data. If the reports print with out the white lines, you have eliminated the laser. If the lines are on the report, then the problem is in the laser.
Now, to clean both.
1. To remove and clean the laser, you first want to shut down and unplug the machine. On the left side, ( the side with the on off switch) you will see 2 screws in the cover. You want to remove those screws, pull the paper tray out slightly and then lift slightly up and pull on the cover, It has these tabs on it that make it tight to remove. But don't be afraid to pull, it will release and you may think you broke something, but you didint .... Now you look in about 10 inches you will see a black box with a some red wires running to it. That is the laser. You will need a stubby magnetic phillips screw driver to remove it. There are 3 screws holding it in place. On in back and two on the front sides. Remove those screws and then disconnect the 2 connectors to the laser and remove the unit. Then place it on a table, there are zero screws holding the laser cover on, Just about 5 or 6 tabs that you have to release with a screwdriver and the cover will pop off. Clean all the lenses and mirrors with a soft damp cloth, and be sure not to leave any dust on those mirrors or lenses. You will also see a silver 7 sides mirror array on a motor. Clean the front of those mirrors. They are the front curved surfaces on that rotating assembly. Clean them well. Then snap the cover back on and reinstall the laser. DO NOT remove any of the laser lenses or mirrors. Just be sure they are dust free.
Now, if you need to remocve and clean the scanner.
Open the door where you install the toner/drum. Above the cartridges you will see 2 phillips screws. You have to remove those. Then on the back of the machine, you need to remove the rear cover, ( 6 screws) then there are 3 screws under the lip of the scanner that have to be removed. ( Oh yea, I forgot, take the document feeder off first, unscrew the connector and lift the feeder off). Once you remove those screws. locate the processor board on the right side, on the top of that there is a plug with red wires from the scanner conected to the board, and then there is a white ribbon cable, remove it, and a green ground wire screwed to the metal bracket. Remove that also. Pull the scanner back and up to remove.
Once you have the scanner removed, flip it upside down. You will have to remove the 3 screws on the front bottom side and remove the consol, then unplug the consol and set asside.
Then there are 5 or 6 screws that hold the glass and bottom part of the scanner together. Remove those screws and flex the scanner cover out on the sides to release a couple of plastic tabs holding hte scanner together. Then clean the bottom of the glass. Set the bottom of the scanner upright and you will see the scanner head, the black box like item with the lamps. You have to very carefully release upper portion of the scan head with the lamps from the bottom portion to access the mirrors. Use a small screw driver to release the tabs. I caution you not to be forceful or you can slip the screwdriver to far in and brean a mirror. Once again clean ALL the mirrors and the small lens.leave no dust on the mirrors. Then carefully reassamble the scanner and machine.
Once you clean that you must then do a shading adjustment. ( Calabrating the scanner).
Once the machine returns to ready, press the keys in this order. Menu,#,1934. YOu should then see a " T " on the screen. You are in the tech mode. Press your machine status button, then scroll to maintenance, then scroll to adhust shading or just shading.
Place 5 pieces of white paper on the glass, press start, when it asks you if you want to adjust shading press start again. Then shut the machine off and back on.
Should fix it by cleaning the scanner or laser.

Xerox C 20 photocopier 'scanner blocked' eror message

There is a scanner lock located on the bottom of the scanner. Look where you take your copies out of the machine. On the under side of the scanner you will see a green latch about an inch and a half long and half inch wide.
Turn the machine off. push the scanner latch inward , then pull it back toward yourself until you hear and feel it snap into place. Then turn the machine back on. that should do it.

The paper will not feed through

It could be several items causing that. Lets go simplest to most difficult.Remove the paper tray completely, What you do is pull it like you were going to add paper, but give it a slight lift upward and it will come out. Look in there and you will see the feed tires they are "D"shaped and they should have some texture to the surfice. Take some alcohol and clean them a few times to remove all contamination. But if they are smoothe, they should be replaced. You have to run a lot of copies on them to wear them out though. Also try spinning them a couple of times to be sure the latches that stop them from multifeeding are not just stuck.
You know what, lets do this the right way. After you take the paper tray out. also take your toner cartridge out, then lift the machine and lay it on its back so you can see the peper feeder totally. But make sure you remove the toner before you lay it on its back. You may also want to remove the document feeder prior to laying it on its back. That way you can see the rollers batter, look into where the paper feeds and see if there is anything blocking the paper path. Who knows a small pirce of paper may be stuck in there, or a staple or paper clip.
Then check the paper tray carefully, press the plate down and see if it springs back up.
Once cleaned and inspected, replace the tray and toner and try and run the machine. If if still jams, you want to move the machine out fron the wall and remove the back cover. There are 6 screws holding it on. You will want to look near the bottom of the frame, there is a whits grar, cam type drive . It is white, about 2 inches in diameter and about a half an inch thick. There is a solonoid that engages to release the peper feed, run the machine and see if that assembly is realsed to feed paper. If not, the solonoid or the main board may be bad.
There are metal fingeres in the paper tray also that press right on the corners of the paper to stop multi sheet feeds, they may be slightly bent also. They are on either side of the peper when it is in the up position. You can try seeing if the move freely up and down when the tray is out.
Also when you have the machine on its side, look at the clear mylar strips in the paper feed to see if one of them are tucked under.
I suspect dirty or worn rolls, or something to do with the paper tray. That is mostly where mis feeds occur.
Please let me know and we will look more into it.

Warm up mode error

There is a problem with the fuser thermistor in that machine.
You can replace the fuser module you can try looking up on google a business called 'The parts drop" call and see if they can sell you just a thermistor. That's not an uncommon problem. Some of those fusers were made with intermittent thermistors.
Also, you can go into the machine setup and turn the power save OFF. A new machine will come with the power save set to 5 minutes and it will make you crazy.

Xerox xc1020

is it a printer/copier?
yes....do both prints and copies off the glass come out black?
yes...probably a problem in the drum/ CRU area
No- prints OK but copies black lift the lid and watch the exposure lamp...does it light up? does it move? Both of these scenarios would usually bring up a fault code, so I would still be inclined towards the drum unit.Pull the unit out and make sure no paper has sneaked up between the drum and the exposure slot, or even into the drum unit. another cause could be a broken corotron wire (very thin wire close to the drum usually behind a grid (charge grid) If it is a customer replacement drum unit (CRU) the charge grid will be built into the unit and will require the whole thing replacing.......

Copier

If it is flat out dead there is a simple fix.
Turn the machine off, and on the back of the machine disconnect the white connector with the 2 thumb screws. Then turn the machine back on with that plug disconnected. Let it come to ready, shut the machine back off, plug the connector back in, tighten the 2 thumb screws and power it back up and let the software re establish communication with the document feeder.
For some reason the machine will forget it has the document feeder.
There is also a version 3.2 firmware on Xerox.com that prevents those problems and also makes copy quality much better.

Copying spreadsheets

If the lines look like little steps, maybe broken is segments off by about the thickness of a pencil line, try this. Most likely it's the scanner. You can try calabrating it by doing the following. press in order. Menu #1934. You will see a T pop up to the right side of "Ready to Copy". Then press machine status, then scroll until you find maintenance. May be under system settings. When you find maintenance, press enter, then scroll to Shading Adjustment. Or depending on software version, Adjust shading. Place 5 sheets of paper on the glass,, press enter, then when is says "Adjust Shading?" press enter again. Let it print out the sheet. Then try a copy. If that doesn't help, the scanner itself will probably need replacing.
The scanner is the issue. The segments of what is called the CCD are not working properly.
Once you adjust shading, if that doesn't work, the scanner will need to be replaced.

RX paper tray full

Yep, easy fix. Look into the area where your copies come out, between the paper try and scanner. look towards the upper back and you will see a flag sensor, about 2 inches wide and 1 inch in height. It has come out of the 2 clips it snaps into. Carefuly move it around until you line it up properly then snap it back into the clips it mounts to. You may have to gently squeeze those clips together to hold the flag in place.
That is your problem. Easy one to resolve.

Document jam

Sometimes powering off and pulling the power from the wall will reset an error like this. If not there will be small flag sensors in the paper path that should be spring loaded. Make sure the springs have not come off and the sensors are moving properly. Next is to make sure the data cable the connect the document feeder to the machine is tightly connected. You should have the power disconnected when re-seating this cable. Also make sure the hinges are not broken.

Xerox workcentre 3345 paper jam in tray1

If you've modified one of the trays and still encounter the same error, it's worth checking if there are any obstructions in the paper path or if the default paper type and color settings need adjustment. Remove Jammed Paper From Tray 1: First, remove any paper from the Bypass Tray. Grasp both sides of the Bypass Tray and pull it straight out of the printer. Next, pull out Tray 1 until it stops. To remove the tray, lift the front of it slightly, then pull it out of the printer. Check for any jammed paper and remove it. Also, make sure there's no crumpled paper left in the tray or jammed inside the printer. If you have Tray 2 (optional), check it as well. Insert Tray 1 back into the printer and push it all the way in. Fully insert the Bypass Tray as well. Confirm the paper settings if prompted. Try your job again. Power the Printer Off then On: Press the Power/Wake button on the printer control panel. Choose "Power Off" to turn off the printer. Wait for a few seconds, then press the Power/Wake button again to turn it back on. Retry your print job. Replace the Paper Feed Roller (if needed): If the issue persists, consider replacing the paper feed roller. Refer to your printer's documentation for instructions on how to do this. If the problem continues, contact Xerox support.
