Jvc camcorder

Have similar camcorder and had the same problem.

Try going into the menu and looking at 'A' in the menu, the heading should be 'camera' (on my camera that's the heading), scroll down to the 'gain up' and select 'auto'.

This fixed our camera instantly, hope it helps for you.

Problem w/ JVC Digital Camcorder GR-D33US

can you playback movies made on it before??? if yes then you have a camera problem and could be a auto iris issue as someone put the camera in manual iris mode or the iris is stuck and a lite tap will usually dislodge the iris OR its the pan capacitor problem ..The pan cap problem is still happining because manufacturers are still using those crappy panasonic surface mounted caps in most camcorders and the less you use the camcorder the more they leak out and distroy the printed curcuit board. Sounds like your gonna need a expert to diagnoise this for you. Good Luck . [email protected] and if thatdosent work try (800) 252-5722

JVC Camcorder GR-D33U

try this steps
  • first install the driver camed with your camcorder to your pc. this should recognize your computer after the installation.
  • use USB cable to connect your camcorder to your pc.
  • as far as i know jvc is using a software name ulead (because i also have a camcorder and its software is ulead)
  • Try to use Ulead Movie producer, Windows Movie maker or any other software that accepts uploading dv video.(i prefer to use ULEAD movie producer or any Ulead products its easy to use)
  • After uploading it from the ULEAD and editing, save it with any various types of videos you like. (in your case save it in DVD format so that it will easy for you to burn it.)
  • Use NERO after searching the save video file and Burn it in DVD type
I hope you understand my procedures and steps on how to transfer it. if you have further questions just contact me. hope that helps!

thank you for using fixya

being a fact that JVC camcorders are very trouble prone, it would probably be a better ideal & cheaper to buy a new camcorder.
for your next camcorder purchase, i would stay away from anything made by JVC.

JVC GR-D33 DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA

This is a very common problem on modern camcorders. The C.C.D. imager I.C. is defective. Depending on the part price and shop rates, expect around $90-$180 to have it repaired.

View finder and LCD problem

Was it dropped? You stated that the camera was only used for a few hours. If that means that it is brand new you should take it back to the store and have it fixed under the warranty. If you open it up the warranty will be void. If it is not under warranty you could have a bad CCD block or a loose or disconnected wire from the CCD block. Checking the connectors is not difficult if you have jewelers screwdrivers, magnifying glasses, a steady hand and lots of patience. Remove all the small screws holding on the covers. Remember where things go as you will have to replace them later. The CCD block is behind the lense. Check this area for loose or disconnected ribbon cables. If they are all OK you will probably have to have the unit looked at by a repair facility. 2 websites which offer free estimates are http://www.camcorderrepair.com and http://www.videotech.com Good luck.
