have you tried another charger...??? if yes, problem is solved, then there was a problem with your charger. if yes, BUT problem is NOT solved, then there is a problem with the small pin of your mobile which is not making good contact with that of your charger. thanks.

If you could wiggle the cable and the computer is able to detect the IPAQ, then you just have to change the USB cable. The reason why it cannot sync is that it get interrupted the moment the cable malfunctions because of loose connection. Change the cable and you should be ok.

when you are upgrading any phone from a computer or laptop you have got to make sure you have the right type of cable because when upgrading your software/firmware the phone switches of and back on into stand by mode and at that moment you cannot accept 'pc suite' like in a nokia n95. thats why the special cable has current going from the computer to the phone so when it switches to stand by mode the cable is in control

The switch in the earphone jack, is faulty. It needs to be replaced.

If you can't remember your passcode, you may have to do a hard reset(factory settings) if you have a sync folder on your computer, there is your backup. To do a hard reset: 1. Remove your iPAQ from the cradle, making sure that it's running on the internal battery power. 2. Use the stylus to press down the recessed reset button on the back or side of the iPAQ. 3. While the reset button is held down, press the On/Off button. 4. Release the reset button. When you press the On/Off button again, your iPAQ turns on and all your files are gone. To avoid repeating this major disaster in the future, you should back up your iPAQ files on your desktop PC. Activesync will generate another folder,and you will have to rename your pocket pc. But once your past that point, open both folders and drad and drop into the new folder. Hope this helps.

On the the IPAQ 6515 and others, there is a USB Power option that you must enable to 'slow' or 'fast' charge from USB connection.

Your slot in the iPAQ is a SD slot, not a SDHC slot - therefore it will not read the card. Your PC card is probably a dual reader. The SD cards look the same but are different. Have a read of this...

Slider switches ok and pointing at the right place in the bottom?

1. Main battery possibly needs replacing.

Assuming that the switches on the bottom case are in the correct position. Try reflashing with original HP rom:

I also own an ipaq 4700 and experienced the same problem. Even after reloading the OS I continued to have this problem. I did buy it refurbished but I fear this may be a common hardware problem. From my research it would appear the battery is the most likely culprit, I have not tried replacing mine but it may be worth a shot, if nothing else you have an extra battery which means less time at the charger :D
