Align screen problem
Ref. HP ipaq hx4700: "Align screen" after hard reset or battery loss. I know others have had trouble getting past the "align screen" setup; I saw a suggestion somewhere that said the points were registered incorrectly (maybe in some, but not all of this model?); and they had to tap at locations other than the center of the cross symbol. I tried a variety of combinations, and found that if I tap ABOVE the center (but still on the vertical centerline) for the middle, top left and top right locations; and tap BELOW the center (but still on the vertical centerline) for the bottom left and bottom right...it worked. That brought me to the "Stylus" setup screen...which I also became "stuck" on. So far, I haven't found a solution to THAT issue yet. Gee, why can't they make these things simpler?
My new 4gb sd card does not register on storage
The official oprating systems of the HX4700, WM2003 and WM5, do not support SDHC card format. Since most 4Gb "SD" cards are in SDHC format (check the label on your card), the file format of your card is likely to be incompatible with the PDA. Get a 2Gb SD card, or go for a Compactflash card for 4Gb to 32Gb of storage space.
HI...CANT CONNECT MY IPAQ HX4700
Are you sure you got the key correct? You sHure have problem getting your spelling coRect. If you are sure, check if you got the encryption protocol (WEP, WPA, WPA2) and sub-protocol settings correct, and check your SSID, key number (1-4), etc.
I did everything that was suggested, but the iPAQ
I am not very sure whatever you've tried, but the best trick is trying with another card, of other brand or smaller memory capacity. have you tried any other memory card smaller than 2GB? This is the first thing you should do to diagnose the problem.
Please post back with more details so that I won't repeat whatever you've tried. Thanks.
I bought HP iPAQ hx4700,
Test it on another device to make sure it works.
If it is a SDHC card try using a non-HC SD card.
I hope this helps.
How to connect HX4700 to
Welcome to Fixya
If the router is secured, you muat enter the correct passkey for you be able to connect to that router. You should take note also the authentication encryption used by the router. It should be the same with your iPAQ. commonly used authentication encryption is WPA-PSK, and TKIP encryption.

have you tried another charger...???
if yes, problem is solved, then there was a problem with your charger.
if yes, BUT problem is NOT solved, then there is a problem with the small pin of your mobile which is not making good contact with that of your charger.
thanks.
When i try to upgroad to my hp ipaq hx 4700 ..
when you are upgrading any phone from a computer or laptop you have got to make sure you have the right type of cable because when upgrading your software/firmware the phone switches of and back on into stand by mode and at that moment you cannot accept 'pc suite' like in a nokia n95. thats why the special cable has current going from the computer to the phone so when it switches to stand by mode the cable is in control
HP iPAQ hx4700 need default password
If you can't remember your passcode, you may have to do a hard reset(factory settings) if you have a sync folder on your computer, there is your backup. To do a hard reset: 1. Remove your iPAQ from the cradle, making sure that it's running on the internal battery power.
2. Use the stylus to press down the recessed reset button on the back or side of the iPAQ.
3. While the reset button is held down, press the On/Off button.
4. Release the reset button.
When you press the On/Off button again, your iPAQ turns on and all your files are gone. To avoid repeating this major disaster in the future, you should back up your iPAQ files on your desktop PC. Activesync will generate another folder, and you will have to rename your pocket pc. But once your past that point, open both folders and drad and drop into the new folder. Hope this helps.
