HP LaserJet 2550L Printer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Why wont cartridges align correctly?
Now this is a good one. There are a lot of possible answers so I will just give the basic ones. The cartridges might be having problems you can check to see if they are all the same brand, the Carousel or Carousel Motor could be bad. The Formatter(controller) Board could be going bad.
Your best bet would be to get a technician to take a look at it.

Faded colors
If the color cartridges and Image transfer kit are good then you should check and clean the Laser Engine or replace the Laser Engine with new one.

Red light flashing
The red light is indication there is an error. Reset does not solve the problem. First solve the problem, like close all doors, or replace cartridges, then try to reset by switching off and unplug from the mains. Then reinsert the mains plug and switch on again.
If the red light comes back, you did not solve the problem. Read the manual, or give more details, so we can help.

V have problem in hp2550
Make sure that the power is coming directly from the wall outlet. DO NOT use a surge protector.
Power off for 30 minutes. Power back on. If error returns, replace the fuser.

Dislocated carousel
Here a short run down on it:
Common on this type print engine. Your carousel is out of index. Repair requires removing all toner cartridges and printer covers. Big black carousel gears have index marks, one on each side. Trip the solenoid carousel brake at the top left of the rotary drive assembly by lifting the solenoid flap to free manual carousel rotation. Bring the yellow slot to the front, facing you to achieve rough indexing. Look for the two white pins of the white carousel drive gear, one pair on each side. Rotate the carousel to where the two pins, which face inward, are at the bottom. The mark of the carousel gear should be between the two white pins. Chances are it is a tooth or two out of index on one side. To reindex, push the black carousel gear inward and the white drive gear outward to skip a tooth. Recheck, reassembly, and have fun.
Hope that helps you.

Spots on paper
Does the pitch of the dots look like it could be caused by the pin wheels on the exit of the paper path?If so it could be that the wheels have got knocked or sagged and are just touching the print as it exits the machine. Try gently prizing them up out of the way.

HP LaserJet 1020 PATCHES ON PRINT OUT
if the patches are random, and not ghost images duplicating down the page, you may need to take out the toner and gently shake it - tilt it right 90 degrees, then left 90 degrees, etc a few times to redistribute the toner... failing that, the toner could be almost empty.otherwise, check and see if they are duplicating down the page.. ie the same image defect 3 or 4 times down the page, if so, it is probably one of the drums.. toner or fuser drum...Hope this info helps.
