Printer ceased printing, renewed cartridge, followed all recommended processes.but it produces blank return.tried on several computers, can it be a head problem? I need to print floppy disc content Any a

The first 2 things I would do are check that you are using genuine Canon cartridges and run a head clean on the printer. Head cleaning options are usually available under printing preferences for the device.

Is my printer compatible with

yes, can be.:D just follow these steps:

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?
(making a program work with windows 7)

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_52.jpg

My printer goes through the motions of copying but

Hi There

Summary

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

We have windows vista and when we tried to install

I found this solution on another website, I suggest you give it a try.

Everything works fine since I installed Vista except for my printer a Compaq IJ300 which is a Lexmark Z11 in disguise. I installed the driver for the regular Z11 through the "Add Printer " but had problems.

Went to Lexmark site - downloaded drivers for Z11 Series ColorFine- working perfectly. So far I have no other problems with vista.

Printer will not stop printing

I had the same problem on my laserjet 1100. When I went in to delete document via control panel the document did not show up. However I had an old printer still registered on my computer and the document was listed under that printer. Cancelling it solved the problem. I have now deleted that old printer so the problem should not recur. Hope this helps.

Compaq

Something similar happened to me with a Lexmark P122 which uses the same cartridge. I believe Lexmark also makes your printer. Did you check the simple stuff first? Shut down your PC and printer, unplug your printer cable, check to be sure it's clean and in good shape on both ends. You can used canned air to blow out the connections. Remove the cartridge, don't touch the copper part with your hands but you can use a lint free cloth with isopropyl alcohol and lightly wipe clean all the copper contacts. Reinstall the cartridge and cable, start your PC and let it boot normally, then start your printer. If you have the same problem, it's probably the printer cartridge itself. On my P122, it turned out to be the printer cartridge. Probably some shorted lands. And that in turned caused my printer to fail permanently. Is there a light flashing on your printer in a short/long type of sequence? If you don't mind, can you check the power adapter (the black box connected to the electrical outlet and supplies power to your printer) and tell me what it says following the word OUTPUT?

Printing Problems

My compaq ij300 was doing the same thing. I removed the cartridge, took a kleenex and wiped the back of the cartridge until it was completely dry and shiny looking...until no more ink would come off on the kleenex. Replaced the cartridge and aligned it using the printing software. I didn't use the test page, just typed a one-line document and hit Print. That took care of the problem.
