Question about Compaq Inkjet Ij300 Printer

3 Answers

Printing Problems My Compaq Ij300 is printing the same sentence 3 times on top of each other. And when trying to read the document it appears to be blurred because of the font being on top of one another. The ink is very dark which leads me to beleive is has plenty of ink. To try and resolve the problem.... I took the cartridge out and shook it. I blew out the printer with an air blower ridding it of dust. I restarted the computer and printed a test page. I unplugged the printer reinstalled the printing software and rebooted the computer. I checked all the font and profile settings. Nothing worked

I have the same problem of my printer printing tripple. I have cleaned my cartridge several times and it is still shiny. I havent had any problems with the print being blurred, just that it is printing the same thing 3 times about a mm apart.

Changing the printer cartridge from color to black worked! Go to cartridge maint. and select a new cartridge to install. Pick the Black option and click Apply / Ok. That worked!!

If it is a black cartridge but printer was added indicating a color cartridge - believe it gives the 3 lines. Perform cartridge management and specify a black cartridge.

My compaq ij300 was doing the same thing. I removed the cartridge, took a kleenex and wiped the back of the cartridge until it was completely dry and shiny looking...until no more ink would come off on the kleenex. Replaced the cartridge and aligned it using the printing software. I didn't use the test page, just typed a one-line document and hit Print. That took care of the problem.

Printer ceased printing, renewed cartridge, followed all recommended processes.but it produces blank return.tried on several computers, can it be a head problem? I need to print floppy disc content Any advice...

The first 2 things I would do are check that you are using genuine Canon cartridges and run a head clean on the printer.

Head cleaning options are usually available under printing preferences for the device.

We have windows vista and when we tried to install compac IJ300 it only goes up to windows 98 - can we install that using vista???

I found this solution on another website, I suggest you give it a try.

Everything works fine since I installed Vista except for my printer a Compaq IJ300 which is a Lexmark Z11 in disguise. I installed the driver for the regular Z11 through the "Add Printer " but had problems.

Went to Lexmark site - downloaded drivers for Z11 Series ColorFine- working perfectly. So far I have no other problems with vista.

Printer will not stop printing

I had the same problem on my laserjet 1100. When I went in to delete document via control panel the document did not show up. However I had an old printer still registered on my computer and the document was listed under that printer. Cancelling it solved the problem. I have now deleted that old printer so the problem should not recur. Hope this helps.

Help iam so comp stupid!!!

You mean it prints 2 copies? Open control panel, then printers. Right-click your installed, default printer and select properties. Under the General Tab select printing preferences. Then select the advanced tab. There should be a setting in there called copy count, make sure it's set as '1'.

Printing

Sadly, Compaq printers (rebranded low-end Lexmarks, the X11 in your case) were not robust at all. Since they were originally created to be a free pack-in for new home PC's, they were not really meant to be used for more than a year or so. It sounds like there is some build up around the jet area, this build up will smudge around when printing. You can try to clean it out with a few cotton swabs although if you aren't careful, some cotton fibers might join in the mess. Another trick I have done in the past is run a piece of cardstock through the printer a few times. Sometimes the extra thick paper will help scrape off excess inks.

Printer prints each line 3 times

There are a number of possible reasons for the problem you are experiencing: 1. The printer head might need alignment - use the printer?s software to align the heads 2. Does the problem occur with different cartridges? Try with an old cartridge before opening a new one. 3. If the ink is smeared you might want to clean the printer - make sure no hair or dust balls inside.
