The easiest way to correct this problem is by uninstalling and reinstalling the DELL printer software. Please visit the link below to download the updated software.
Printer P1500 Mono Laser Printer 9X/ME LPT Installation1. Unzip the downloaded file to a directory on your computer
2. Open up the Add Printer Wizard (Start >
Settings > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer)
3. For the Add Printer Wizard, Select "Local Printer", "LPT port".
4. Click the "Have Disk" button and browse to the directory where the drivers has been downloaded.
5. Follow through the rest of the screens to complete the installation.
NT Network InstallationNote: Since NT does not support USB, you can only install the driver on a network.
1. The Microsoft TCP/IP Printing service must be installed. Skip to step 2 if this service is already installed. Otherwise follow steps A through F below.
To install MS TCP/IP Printing service:
A. Right Click on Network Neighborhood
B. Click "Properties"
C. Select the "Services" tab
D. Click "Add"
E. Select "Microsoft TCP/IP Printing"
F. Restart when prompted
2. Goto Start->Settings->Printers
3. Click the "Add Printer" icon
4. Select the "My Computer" radio button
5. Select "Add Port"
6. Select "LPR Port"
7. Enter the IP Address of the printer and a unique printer name
8. Click "OK" and then "Close"
9. Click "Next" and select "Have Disk"
10. Click "Browse" and search for the path your driver is located (i.e. C:\Dell\Printer\Drivers\Win_NT.40\DKAAGLDA.INF)
11. Click "Open"
12. Click "OK" and then "Next" until you reach the "Finish" screen
13. Click "Finish"
