If NO print pattern then the Printer heads clogged or damaged. New printer is cheaper than fixing.

One of the suggestions I would have made has already been offered. Another would be the heads (contacts which if dirty could be telling the printer that a new cartridge is empty. That is quite likely if the printer has not been used in a while. You could try cleaning the head with a cotton swab dipped in either alcohol or electronic contact cleaner. The eec would probably be better to use as it is specifically intended for such use and won't "flash", but it is "pricey" and might also be difficult to find. Another suggestion is to disconnect the printer from your computer completely, uninstall the software, reboot the computer, make a "mouse gesture", shut down the computer, and reboot a second time after reconnecting the printer. Presumably the OS will see the printer, prompt to reinstall the software. Do nozzle check. Is it perfect? If only one or two nozzle missing, it must be "good result" in photo quality mode printing. But if, there is too much nozzle missing, result is no good. If nozzle check is perfect, but the result is not satisfied, check the PF scale and PF scale sensor.

The problem is the print head, The ink cartrige for this printer is just a little bottle of ink. What really causes problem in it IS THE CLOGGED HEAD. If you have skill to reach thepen of the head (part that touchs the paper) use a quill tip or rag soak on water and clean it. Or go to EPSON SITE AND ORDER A HEAD CLEANNER FLUID TO POUR INSIDE THE HEAD AND CLEAN IT.

Use this solution for cleaning your printer nozzle

85% distilled water
10% Isopropyl alcohol
5% ammonia

use soft cloth or sponge + solution and carefully wipe the print head

Turn on your printer, as soon as the carriage moves out of it's resting position quickly unplugged the printer, the carriage should stop in a postion that you could move it freely by hand. Just position it by hand where you can remove the cartridge and put it back correctly. When your done just gently push the carriage back to it's resting position then put the plug in and turn it on.

Examine the belt that powers the print head, see if it is excessively sloppy, check the head moves freely along the print head bar, if it snags, there is damage to the bar or the print head holder is worn

TBH, I'd bury it if there is any wear as replacement parts are expensive compared to a new printer

Still locked out until the counters are reset.

It may help if you remove all cartridges...including ones that haven't been changed recently...switch off the printer, restart and re-install the inks. The memory needs to clear to recognise the new carts. I hope this tip works for you...it did for me.

Follow the instructions and do a head /nozzle clean

You've probably upgraded to Windows 7 and your printer wasn't made for it. Go online and find W7 drivers for it, if that doesn't work clean the CD. If that doesn't work you probably have to buy an new printer.

First of all please switch off the printer, unplug all the cables from/to the printer and let it sit without power for more than ten minutes and replace all the cables from/to the printer and switch it on. Now print a test page. If it is printing normally then the issue has been resolved. If not then you'll need to uninstall the printer drivers and reinstall them. Follow these steps :
1- Turn off the printer, making sure the print head is right in its normal position.
2 - Unplug the power cord from the printer and reconnect after 20 seconds.
3 - Keep the buttons "Paper" and "Ink" down and press the power button
4 - When the "Paper" light, release all buttons.
5 - Press on the button "Ink" until the LED flashes several times (it may take a few seconds) and then release the button
6 - The printer will then perform a full reset and start cleaning heads (10 seconds)
7 - At the end of the cylce only the "POWER" indicator will be on.
