It's not the inverter but the biotin backlight bulb that lights the display from underneath. The screen needs to be replaced unless you want to try and rebuild it and replace the backlight bulb. New screens from EBay should not be more than 70-100 bucks. If you want to try and replace the backlight bulb, the link is below for the procedure.....

LCD panel. i have several Toshiba laptop with bad LCD.

If you can access the internet then go to www.toshiba.com and then download the update program again sounds like there is an address problem and this should clear it up

Sounds like the Video setting is too high. Change the refresh rate lower and change the resolution lower. You monitor can't handle the setting that you have it on.

Try to remove BATTERY and plug in AC POWER ADAPTER AND START IT.Let me know if it worked?

First clean the fans out - these get clogged pretty easily.
If it gets stuck where you cant turn it off - hold down the power button for 5 seconds.

Hopefully the system hasnt been overheating for so long it has damaged the CPU or motherboard.

If the fans are clean and it still does it, you may have a bad stick of ram or the mainboard you bought may have problems.
I would inform the company you got the mainboard installed that it is having problems right away in case you dont have much time left in warranty.

I doubt a Windows 8 driver will work in your case. I would use Windows 7 or 10. You may need to use a USB graphics adapter in place of the internal. Many USB video adapters are more useful for that sort of thing.

What version of windows?

Do you still hear (feel) that the cooling fans are working ? Maybe the fans are clogged by dust and the processors are overheating! Try a vacuum fast clean on the exhaust hot air holes, it can help!

ok like all old laptops the CCFL lamps are now dead. all are. if used every day and 20,000 hours hit, bam DEAD. the CCFL are dead, all LT made before 2010 had CCLF back lamps.(and monitors) you hear the fan blow?, and no text on screen? I have had even new sticks of ram not work in one machine, but are fine in another. Put the old ram back in and make sure everything works like you want, then try the ram again. If they are still giving problems, unfortunately it looks like even more ram is your solution.

gmail works of the speed of your connection if your d-link is faulty it will course connection problems try another router or connect straight to your modem [if your on cable] if adsl try doing a speedtest first.

Try opening Device Manager in Control Panel and deleting the driver. Reboot, plug the mouse in again and see if that works.
Alternatively try restoring your PC to before your last update.

May be a faulty wifi card. But check Adapter settings in control panel to ensure wifi card is "enabled" and check device manager to ensure correct wifi driver is installed.

It may be stuck in hibernation. Just press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until it shuts down all the way. Power it back on and you should be good
