NEC MultiSync MT1050 Multimedia Projector Questions & Answers
NEC MT1050 pojector
I believe this indicates a lamp failure. Make sure the lamp is seated correctly. If you haven't checked, take the lamp out and look at it. I left off a connector (the yellow wire I think) once when reassembling an mt1050 and had what I believe was the same indications. If you have taken the projector apart double check that all the wires are reconnected. Other than that I'm not sure.
Red color seperating
If you mean the red light is displaying offset from the blue and green then the red LCD panel inside the projector needs to be physically adjusted. If you take the projector apart you'll notice that the light source is split into red, green and blue light by passing through an optical splitter. Each color then passes through it's own LCD panel. Next, each color is joined back together by another light splitter to be projected to your screen. The red LCD panel is misaligned.
Alignment (convergence) of color panels MT1050
I can assist you with that if you want. It is very tedious, but can be done. You need a cross hatch pattern generator or something with vertical and horizontal lines to lineup the LCD Panels again. Tricky little procedure if your not familiar with it. Let me know if i can assist you and hopefully save you agravation at the same time. Thanks Jay
