I have a projector that will not turn on. The power light is orange and the status light blinks red
I had the same issue and it was very frustrating....I found this projector in the trash and I am assuming that the original owners got frustrated and threw this out, but I read up on the switches that control the cover placement and it is amazing I just got done watching my honeymoon video on the wall of my home. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Thank you for posting to this site so that I knew where to start. Make sure those little switches are fully pressed down (there is a switch under both filter covers as well as the lamp changing cover) I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff, but I figure it out.
You are right about the filters. It turned out that the projector was slightly damaged and there was a filter trigger that was not being pushed in and was not allowing my projector to turn on. Had to have that disconnected by a professional so that the projector would work.
I believe this indicates a lamp failure. Make sure the lamp is seated correctly. If you haven't checked, take the lamp out and look at it. I left off a connector (the yellow wire I think) once when reassembling an mt1050 and had what I believe was the same indications. If you have taken the projector apart double check that all the wires are reconnected. Other than that I'm not sure.
I just noticed that the power light will light orange and the status light blink red if any of the external dust filters are not in place. There are little switches that tell the projo if they are missing. So, double check that the filters are in correctly. Good luck.
how do you bypass the little switches if it broke off?
