Water ais heaver than oil and if you drain the oil the water will come out first. Dirts heaver than oil too anhopefully most of it will come out with the water too. Drain the oil till it's just oil then start it up and drive it to the oil change place and tell em what happened and change the oil drive it some and then change it again. If you ask them just right they might sell you a few oil changes at is discount. Of course if your set up to change your own oil, Do it Your Self.

Take some clean oil maybe 2 or 3 quarts and pour into the engine. the clean oil will wash the dirt and water into the oil pan. then drain the oil, change the filter, and refill with new oil. you where very observant to notice the problem and very smart not to drive the car.

Oil in water bottle no emulsion no coolant loss could it be oil cooler

The only oil cooler in the radiator is for the transmission, check for loss of transmission fluid and water in the transmission.
If the transmission fluid is clean, try to id the type of oil present, if it's not redish color, you have engine oil entering the cooling system.
Water is heavier than oil, and will show if you unscrew the drain plug at the pan.

I have a obsolete but modern-ish Whirlpool water cooler. The white plastic ring the 5 gallon water bottle sits on is cracked, and chunks are coming off. Whirlpool doesn't stock parts for old model

The collar is only there to keep the bottle at the correct height in relation to the water in the cooler. The principle is that when the vacuum inside the bottle is not being release by the water clearing the opening no more water will run out. To understand what I mean fill up a bottle ( any old bottle) right to the top. Fill up the sink and with you finger over the top of the bottle place the bottle upside down in the water. Take you finger from the hole and it will glug once maybe twice then no more water will run out until you lift the bottle out of the sink water. To stop more running out simply put the neck of the bottle bac in the sink. It is the same with you water cooler bottle. So all you need to do now is to to cover the foam with a piece of vinyle and it will be fixed.

1991 acura legend starts to over heat and the top hose is hot but bottom hose isn't but the overflow bottle is bubbling.what's the solution?

If the upper hose is hot and the lower hose is cold than there is a flow issue. I'm guessing you replaced the thermostat to try and resolve this issue and you bled all the air out of the cooling system? If this is tru than I would suspect the water pump is bad. Possibly the impeller has come off from the shaft? The water pump is timing belt driven.

You will need to remove the valve cover and inspect it, otherwise it is anyone's guess what the noise is.

96 Firebird, Replaced water pump, fuel pump - Now blows head gasket.

Get yourself another mechanic. This guy is not doing his job. It shouldn't cost $1600 to change a water pump and fuel pump. No proper mechanic would remove a thermostat to replace the O-ring and put the old thermstat back in. It wouldn't be uncommon for the coolant level to drop after changing the thermostat. It probably only needs to be topped up. No, the motor doesn't have to come out to replace the head gasket and I don't see it costing $2500. Before you spend any more money there, take the car somewhere else and get another opinion. I bet that if you fill up the coolant bottle for 2 0r 3 days it will stop losing coolant. Hope this helps.

TICKING SOUND FROM UNDER THE HOOD, FIRST TIME DRIVING THIS CAR IN THE WINTER, OIL JUST CHANGED, DEALERSHIP PUT THE WRONG OIL IN 5W30 INSTEAD OF 5W20 - IS THIS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS?

Hello! 5W30 shouldn't make much of a difference ...If the ticking sound is coming from the lifters I would change the oil and filter again...The cost isn't that much...It sounds as if the vehicle isn't driven much and may be gunked up...Add a bottle of Seafoam to the gas tank when you fill up (great product) and it will clean out the gunk...Guru...saailer
