I have a 1999 toyota 4Runner and the heat ac control is not working properly. The control is digital with an lcd display. Most control buttons are not working. Others work occasionally. I know this part is a plug n play item, but I need to know how much disassembly is is required to get the part out of dash-front.

Was the control panel ever wet? You may need to remove the entire dashboard to get the part out - I am not that familiar with 4 runners so I could be entirely wrong

SOURCE: No power to cigarette lighter/power outlet (front & rear)..

Replace the 15 amp ACC fuse that is in the fusebox under the dash. See if this eliminates your problem.

SOURCE: Dash Control Unit Replacement

You can save a LOT of money by fixing it yourself.

All that is wrong with the knob are broken wires from the knob's PC board to the main PC board on the AC control.

All you have to do is remove the AC main control, take it apart, and resolder the broken wires from the PC board with the knob on it, to the main AC pc board. There are 3 wires, any number could be broken.

If you take it apart and solder the broken wires, this WILL fix your issue. Just make sure you put the wires back exactly where they go.

A FIXYA rating (4 blue diamonds) would be most appreciated for my assistance.

I have an 1999 honda accord and the AC lights just keeps blinking what could possibly be the problem

Go to a junkyard and get a AC/heat control board 98 99 2000 are the same, make sure you get the one that match your car cause there is one with no display and there is one that has a digital display .
If you magnify the solder joints of these components you will see which one has broken cold solder joints that need to be re-soldered.

I Have A 1995 Toyota 4runner, the temp. gauge needle climbs to the hot side while running my a/c . why does it do that?

Hi Bobby,

This means that the Toyota is over heating. I take it that you have installed the Ac after you've bought the Toyota. The AC van that keep the AC radiator cool is rotating to the wrong direction. If you can get the fan to rotate in the same direction as the fan on the radiator then you will sort this problem.

I have no heat in front of my 99 Toyota 4 runner, there is a clicking. Suggestions anyone

I have the same problem with my 99 4Runner. I have narrowed the problem down to the water control valve or something under the dash that pushes the control cable. A temporary solution is to look under your hood. At the top center of the firewall is the water control valve with a small actuator arm with a cable attached to it. Select either full heat or full cool and push that little control arm in the appropriate direction. I hope this helps.

2000 4runner Limited Sr5 Climate Control Switchout

Probably due to the wiring and set up you will need the same system.Check the plug for connection and check the buttons fpr feel on the unit as if they feel worn in the functions youre using its probably right that you think its not right ,see if you can try the same unit from another car to help diagnose the issue

2005 Toyota 4Runner AC temp. control lights are not working.

I am going to guess that the peanut bulb in the knob is burned out.

I had a similar problem with my 2003 4Runner and changed the bulb and it worked fine.

The dealer told me it would take about 8 hours to change the 3 dollar bulb. I looked in my manual and it took me between 5 and 10 minutes tops.

I don't remember what the bulb number is. I do know that I had to get it from a Toyota dealer and not a regular auto parts store.

Hope this helps.

Did you put freon in it? If you changed the compressor, you lost compression. A certified mechanic can do this. No one else.

Heat blowing in back under the seat but no heat in the front

Except your engine does not carry a factory fitted AC.

The hose that connects to the dash board should be re-aligned.

That should fix it.
