I'm forwarding a YouTube video that shows the location and tools needed for this repair. There is only one cabin filter location. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWoSdrTfj0w
According to the parts books, a cabin air filter was a dealer installed option in 2000. If it has one, the access panel may be behind the glove box or in the engine compartment. You may need to check with a Ford dealer to be sure.
There are no cabin air filters on 250-350 super-duties.
But in some older models there is cabin air filter located behind the glove compartment.Get it checked and confirmed.Thanks.Helpmech.
The cabin air filter is usually located behind the glove box or at the base of the windshield in the cowl area over the HVAC inlet duct. The exact location can be found in the vehicle owner’s manual or a filter reference guide at the auto part store where you purchase the cabin air filter from. On most Fords, the filter is located under the hood in the cowl area. On Chrysler models, it is located under the dash. On GM products, it might be under the hood (Impala, Lumina and Monte Carlo), under the dash (Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe) or behind the glove box (Venture). On Toyota, Lexus, Nissan and most Honda models, you’ll find the filter behind the glove box. There is no cabin air filter even listed for a 1998 Oldsmobile Regency.
On vehicles where the cabin air filter is mounted under the cowl at the base of the windshield, some disassembly may be required to replace the filter. This may involve removing a plastic cowl cover. The area around the filter usually collects debris, so this area should be cleaned to remove any leaves, bugs or other debris before the old filter is pulled out. This will prevent any contaminants from falling into the HVAC inlet duct.
On vehicles where the filter is located behind the glove box, the glove box may have to be removed to replace the filter. On others, the filter can be accessed from under the dash and pulled out of a slot in the HVAC unit.
Most cabin air filters are flat-panel filters, but some have unusual shapes, so they will fit the HVAC inlet duct. Some filters also come in two sections to make replacement easier.
The cabin air filter is located under the cowl. Open the hood, proceed to the passenger side of the car and you will see where the right side wiper is resting, under the black plastic cowl there the cabin filter is.
Your cabin filter is located on the passenger side. Open the passenger door and under the glove box you will when looking up you will see a panel to remove and slide the filter out. The filters are a little pricey, but if they are not flowing well they will affect the capacity of warm or cold air output.
