  • Anonymous Apr 17, 2010

If you look at part #3 on Image 0072 that you emailed me.... That piece is completely bent down (upside down U shape)... They must have somehow gotten a slim jim down there and pushed it down in order for the window to be able to be pushed down in order for them to reach their arm in and unlock the door..... Grrrrr

SOURCE: 2005 chevy impala rear driver power window stopped going up.stuck

If neither switch works it is a bad connection at the motor or bad ground or a bad motor. Remove the door panel unplug the motor push the switch and see if there is 12volts on the wires if there is the motor is bad There are small brushes in the motor that go bad tap on the motor while pushing the switch if it works that way replace it

SOURCE: rear driver's side large vent power window won't shut

There is a motor that actuates this. You need to get at it to test the wiring with a meter or test light to see if you have the power and ground to the motor when applying the switch. If you have power and ground there, the motor is bad.

The rear windows on my '04 Saturn Ion won't open from any of the controls.

Rear Passenger Power Window Operation
The rear passenger power window switches receive battery voltage through the window lockout control circuit if the window lockout function is disabled. Ground for the rear passenger power window motors is supplied through normally closed up and down contacts of both the rear passenger power window switches and the driver power window switch. When the either rear passenger power window switch is placed in the down position, the power window motor down control circuit is switched to 12 volts and is applied to the down side of the rear passenger power window motor. Since the other side of the rear passenger power motor is connected to ground through the normally closed up contacts of both the rear passenger and driver power window switches, the window travels down. By placing the rear passenger power window switch in the up position, the polarity of the power window motor is reversed and the window travels up.
The rear passenger power windows can also be controlled from the driver power window switch.

Did you try pushing the lock out switch on the drivers master switch ?

The driver side window won't roll up. Is there a fuse for that and where? I can't locate specific schematics for fuse panel. 1991 Chevy caprice classic.

There is a fuse or a circuit breaker for power ! But it powers all the windows . If just the driver side doesn't work the switch or the motor or the window regulator is bad ! Do the other windows work from the driver door switch !

How do i get a wiring diagram for drivers side electric window?

Wiring diagrams usually are not spit up in that manner. Inlays are used in important sectios and the schematic may bridge the page,Schematics are folded preferentialy to maintain continuity of the drawn circuits. No front, go rear? Circuits can be split to segregate front and rear. If the fuse is good then the switch at the drivers door msy be at faulty due to burned contacts, bad connector ir dislocated wire.Highest probability is the fuse which should be checked first. Then the switch (master on drivers door). Voltage in and voltage out when switch is operated. Now, keep in mind rhat the problem is more often the ground to the circuit. Each window motor has its own grtound and hot wire. The motors of each are grounded to yhe door its in. So Two points to verify. Power and ground. Check under the drivers seat, There maybe be a juncture if wirie harnesses. If so, check all connections and ground. CHECK under the hood/engine compartment.for additional connectors used to connect the chasis wire harnesst o the body harnss I hope this helped, if not, I apologize for wasted time reading. Good Luck.- .Ps.

Driver's window

The wiring diagrams for your 2003 GMC Sierra power window circuits are copyrighted material and cannot be posted here. However, I can describe the driver's power window circuit to you.

Battery voltage is provided to the driver's window (master) switch via the ORANGE wire at PIn #2 on the switch connector which comes from the 25 Amp Left Window Circuit breaker located in the fuse block on the left side of the dash.

There is a logic module located inside of the master switch which controls the "Auto Down" feature for the driver's window. When the switch is operated in either the "UP" or "DOWN" position, power and ground is supplied to the window lift motor via the BROWN wire (Pin #1, Connector 2) and the DARK BLUE wire (Pin #3, Connector 2) Thease wires will switch polarity dependin on whether the switch is commanding UP or DOWN.

The schematics show that the ground circuit for the driver's window motor is supplied internally by the driver's window switch module. It is most likely grounded inside the door panel itself - the schematics do not specify. To check for ground, you can test continuity to ground on BOTH the BROWN and the BLUE wires by back-probing them with the switch electrical connector plugged in and the window control switch in the NEUTRAL position. They should both have ground.

When the switch is operated, one will remain ground while the other switches to power.

1998 VW Jetta GLS Manual Trans. The driver side power window won't roll down. From the same switch the front passenger window won't up but will roll down. The passenger side switch works fine; passanger...

If you have a multimeter you can go to the underside of the master panel in the drivers door and independently check the switches for voltage or with no power to the switch assembly check for continuity. Good place to start. If you get continuity to through the switch then you need to check power to the window actuators in the doors.

The drivers side window switch will not control the passengers window, however the passenger side window switch does control the window.

You will either have a broken wire in the door hinge area or either switch can be bad it depends on where the ground has been lost swap the rear door switch just to make sure other than that you realy need to know the schematic of the system to determine who is at fault
