You have not specified if the bearing is faulty or the need to replace or a symptom of bearing noise. However all what you can do is to jack/hoist up the suspected wheel and rotate it freely by hand, if there is rumble noise or a friction or wobbling felt then the bearing and in some cases the hub can also be faulty. Unless the assembly is removed this cannot be finalised. Sometimes a good greasing can solve the issue.
Here are the common causes or rear end noises
Constant high pitched whine at all speeds: Pinion Bearings or Ring gear carrier bearings
Whine at steady speeds or whines on deceleration: Rear end gear set is worn and will need to be replaced.
Rumbling type of noises are caused by wheel bearings or a tire with a separated cord.
Possibly struts or strut bearings. or it could be inner or outer tie rods, maybe control arm bushings steering rack mounts. Need more information and specific circumstances it happens under.
Check for uneven tire wear, make sure the wheels are properly balanced, check for proper tire inflation. Low pitched noise that increases with speed is related to tires, wheel bearings, etc. Start with the easy and cheap remedies first... tire inflation, wear etc.
the struts are very easy to pull off the car, but as to taking the strut apart that is best left to a professional, it requires very expensive special strut cartridge installing fixtures
Bad hub bearing. Drive the car on a straght EMPTY road .@30 mph or when noise is audible, **** the wheel left than right (similar to a race car warming. tires) and listen if there is a change in the sound if so its a front bearing if not it should be a rear bearing .Jack the rear of the vehicle up and spin the tire holding onto the strut. Feel and listen for a vibration or noise. This should pinpoint that elusive noise.Let me know Good hunting
You probably have a bad wheel bearing or bad tire on left front. when making right turn left front wheel wil spin faster than right making noise louder.
