"Cylinder head bolts. Tighten the cylinder head bolts gradually and in the sequence shown. Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) and turn the bolts another 3 turns of 90 degrees using the angular torque gauge KM-470-B."
again, our USA 2.0L engine only,
it does not state new bolts.

The haynes book is not recommended since there are numerous mistakes and they still will not update. One of the biggest is the firing order.

The factory service manual is the only way to go.

Head bolts - 46 - 50.5 lbs (there is an order sequence for the bolts)

Intake & exhuast manifolds- 13.5 - 20 lbs

Flywheel - 41.5 - 47 lbs

Clutch cover - 13.5 - 20 lbs

What the torque sequence and spec for a 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 L gasoline head bolts? not 2.5 diesel

The torque sequence and specifications for the cylinder head bolts on a 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5L gasoline engine are as follows:

  1. Tighten all bolts in the sequence shown below to 22 ft-lbs (30 Nm).8 4 1 5 \ ' / ' / 7 3 2 6
  2. Tighten all bolts in the same sequence to 45 ft-lbs (61 Nm).
  3. Tighten all bolts in the same sequence an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn).
  4. Tighten all bolts in the same sequence an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn) again.
Ensure that you follow the sequence and torque values precisely to prevent uneven tightening and potential head gasket issues. It's also crucial to use a good quality torque wrench for accuracy. Please note that torque specifications may vary slightly depending on the specific engine build, so it's always a good idea to consult your vehicle's service manual for the most accurate information for your particular engine.

  3. Tighten all the bolts to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) in sequence again, starting from the center and working outward.
  4. Finally, tighten all the bolts an additional 90 degrees in sequence again.

What is the cylinder head tighten torque

Have a look on this link. You may be able to find your car:

SPECIFICATION LOOKUPS

Cylinder head bolts are usually tightened to around 65 ft-lbs, depending on what the car is.

There's more than 4 cylinder head bolts... There's usually 10 bolts.
There's also a sequence for tightening the bolts:

cylinder head tightening order Google Search

When tightening cylinder head bolts do it in 'stages' and follow the sequence .. ie.. tighten the bolts finger tight first, then torque them up to about 25 ft-lbs. Wait 2 minutes.

Then tighten them to about 45 ft-lbs in sequence. Wait 2 minutes.

Do it again up to about 55 ft-lbs. Wait 2 minutes.

Tighten them up to 65 ft-lbs or whatever is recommended for your car.

Tightening in order/sequence pulls the cylinder head evenly onto the block. Waiting 2 minutes between stages allows a 'stretched' bolt to 'settle'.
