I'm not familiar with a code that is s701, typical engine cades start with P. However, jag had a mfr recall numbered S701 on 98-99 xj models. What year and engine is your jag? Also try these links http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-type-s-type-r-supercharged-v8-x200-15/s-type-check-engine-codes-61719/. http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/jaguar/. JAGUAR S701 1672 V 3/1/2002 1998 XJ series, WJCXV04.0AS3 A number of owners of 1998 through 1999 model year Jaguar XJR vehicles, 1983 50S 4444 1999 XK series XJCXV04.0AS3 equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system, have been alerted to the 2461 50S presence of a possible problem by the sound of an exhaust leak and/or illumination of the MIL. It was established that the noise was being caused by exhaust gas escaping from the pipe that transfers exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve. The escape was caused by a crack in the transfer pipe. Remedy: The design of the convolutions that provide for flexibility of the transfer pipe has been modified to improve the pipe's resistance to damage during installation and due to vibration. A heat sock has been added to provide a vibration damping medium for the pipe. Technical Service Bulletin S701 describes corrective action. Hope this helps

Lost radio code

Check the driver's manual for the code. Sometimes it's on a card that is in with the manual. Put in the code with the numbered buttons on the radio and the radio will work again. This is to prevent theft.

What does code P1587 mean?

Hi there;
Your looking for the definition of code P1587 on you 2000 Jag S-type.
Are you ready for this? It has a long name.

P1587 :PCM to throttle actuator control module throttle command redundancy circuit malfunction.

Which means the information the engine control computer received from the throttle controller does not "compute". Unfortunately the dealer doesn't provide any repair information & if this code is constant it will need to be repaired by your local Jaguar dealer.
