2003 jaguar s-type restricted performance at 3000 Rpms. car sputters. I replaced the plugs, and coils to no avail . the check engine light flashes with the restricted performance. has around 108,000 miles. has anyone else had this problem and what caused it ?
I had the same problem. Restricted performance and running rough at 3000 RPM. I have an OBDII code reader and found that the problem was in the air mass flow sensor, which is just after the air filter. I pulled this out and found it was dirty and had butterfly wings in it. The last shop where I had the oil changed replaced the filter for me but put in the wrong size. Close but no cigar. Bought some *** Flow Sensor cleaner at auto store and fixed the problem. Get an OBDII reader with the ability to erase the codes. Comes in real handy.
Yes i had exactley the same problem took it the jag garage they replaced so many items including the items you mentioned throttle body, it is however now fixed it was part of the wiring harness, they changed this part and all is now good car has been driving good for two months now, now i can overtake with confidence
Changed coil s and plugs and cleaned mass air filter car still wont go over 3000 revs any ideas how to solve this s type w reg 3000

I have a s type Jaguar and the restricted performance light is on.... Do I indeed need a tune up. Some say I may have bad gas in my car........ I have for the pass 2 weeks driven the car as low as 30 miles before empyt? Plus I have change the usually gas station because of price....... what is the problem
I had the restricted performance light code come on twice while on the freeway although the performance was not hindered. I took to the Jag dealer & after thorough exam, the Master Air Flow Sensor was replaced & under my extended warranty. Not an expensive part.
