Unrelated to your stalling problem, the starting problem is the starter itself. When a starter goes bad, it will function when it's cold but once it heats up, it requires more power to make it work, that's why lights radio etc will continue to work. Hope this helps answer your question. Best of luck!

Loses power then lurches. Stalls when idling

I would start with the fuel filter.

Is the Service Engine Soon (or Check Engine) light illuminated on the instrument panel? If so, then have someone pull the codes and post them back here. Autozone will do this for you at no cost.Caution: don't purchase any parts after reading the codes on their recommendation! If no codes, then suspect either a bad crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. There are other possibilities too, but these are primary. I have seen MANY bad crank sensors do exactly what your describe without setting a code.

If its an ignition switch problem the car will stall if you wiggle the key back slightly and if you quickly switch it back will it continue running. Otherwise i would replace the main fuel relay which sometimes fail when hot, then start working again when they cool down.

I have a 2002 toyota corolla that likes to stall - taken the car to a mechanic twice in the last 6 months - they can't seem to find the problem - any suggestions or ideas?

when it stalls does it start right back up or do you have to wait awhile. if it stalls and wont start check for spark at the spark plugs and for fuel pressure. a common problem is the ignition module. it could even be a dirty throttle body if it is stalling at the stop sign then starts right back up. Check your air filter and the throttle body. If the throttle body has a bunch of carbon build up your car wont get enough air at idle. same will happen if you have a super dirty air filter. If the ignition module is bad the symtoms are usually that it wont start for a while till it cools down then will restart.

'02 Miata stalls randomly

your crank position sensor is starting to go bad. we see this a lot at the shop, when it gets hot it will short itself out. you will need to replace it before it goes out all the way. it is located on the front of the valve cover or on the pass side rear of the cover and is held it by one bolt. you can get this at your local parts house but I do recommend you use the one from the dealer we seem to have less problems with them.

Car runs for 5 mins ,stalls, sometimes starts and sometime stalls

try checking the coil igniter, if this is faulty and it gets hot it will really make your car die but when its cold it will make your car run again.
