2000 silverado 4.8 v8 runs bad when it is cold out side.

2000 silverado runs bad when cold out side untill warm then runs fine
starts fine in warm mornings not in cold mornings. I changed (plugs fuel filter air filter fuel pressure regulator cleaned iac valve & map map sensor egr valve. It also idles up and down untill it gets warm get 17-21 mph on highway. while running it feels like small miss her and there i also checked
compresson 100 or better.

Replace the mass air flow sensor. it has the intake air temp. sensor built in it .i just went thru the same thing with mine.also before you buy that maf sensor, unplug it and then start your truck,,,should run better. if it does not run any better, then you need to try something else.

this code can just be a victim. for sure , with misfire.

what is water temp in engine coolant, at failure? less than 150F?

id use a scan tool and watch all sensor when it fails.
too high fuel pressure.
misfires cold, but only luke warm cold starts not fully cold.

check that your speedo cable is not close to exhaust and getting too hot causing cable to seize up

CHECK THE COLD START ENRICHMENT VALVE AND OR THE IDLE CONTROL VALVE. I AM ASSUMING THAT YOUR VEHICLE IS FUEL INJECTED. ONE OF THOSE HAVE GONE BAD.

hi a bad water pump will not let the engine run normal unless it is frozen up. it sounds like your coolant temp sensor has gon bad.that will cause rough cold starts and work fine after warmed up
