No there is not a inline fues. Have you hooked up the wiring to stud 1? It doesn't come from the factory hooked up.

SOURCE: 40amp fuse blown on stud

Hi, this is generally caused by either a dead battery or a bad starter, although you should check these steps to make sure it's not an operator error.

  • If car is automatic, check that transmission is in park and your foot is on brake.
  • If car is stick shift, check that clutch pedal is fully depressed. Check neutral safety switch behind clutch pedal (small button that prevents engine from starting when transmission is in gear). If clutch pedal doesn't fully engage neutral safety switch, engine will not crank.
  • Check that driver's seat belt is fastened (some cars will not start with seat belt unlatched).
  • Make sure you've properly inserted key. Turn it to On position and give steering wheel quarter turn in either direction.
  • Make sure alarm system is not activated, preventing car from starting (see owner's manual for car alarm).
  • Check for dead battery. Test wipers, radio, headlights and heater fan. If all work normally, battery is probablycharged and you may have bad starter. If they don't work, move on to next step.
  • Check connection at battery and at starter. If battery connections are good and all accessories work, consider jumpstarting car.
  • Open hood and check battery connections at terminals. If either connector is loose enough to move, problem may be bad connection. Jiggle or tighten cable end. Corrosion at battery terminal will also prevent car from starting. Clean terminal with wire brush or water and rag and tighten battery cable connectors.
  • Check connection at starter. Follow battery cable from positive battery terminal to starter. Make sure connection isn't loose. Lightly tap outside of starter with hammer. Sometimes this will free stuck components inside so car can start.
  • Consider push-starting car (transmission only) if battery or starter is at fault.

How do you replace an alternator on a 2012 Chevy traverse

-Remove oil cap & pull off engine cover
-Remove the radiator overflow tank 10mm socket
-Remove the bracket to the metal radiator line10mm socket
-Disconnect small hose from power steering tank

-Disconnect the cable wire to the fuse box (tape the wire bc it's live wire) 13mm socket

-Remove the Wheel
-Remove wheel-well plastic. Pull out tree clips & unscrew the 3 torque-headed screws on edge. One screw is under the bumper flap

-Remove the serpentine belt. Use a 1/2 socket wrench without a socket. Just put the 1/2 inch end of wrench into belt pulley & push towards rear of car to release tension

-Unscrew bolt on the pulley that goes through alternator lower bracket. You'll have to remove it with the alternator as 1, don't have enough clearence to remove bolt after unscrewing. Make sure bolt is clear of bracket hole when pulling it out w/ alternator. 15mm wrench (socket won't fit)

-Remove nut off the alternator wire 13mm socket

-Remove nuts off the 2 stud bolts 13mm socket

-Remove the 2 stud bolts since alternor won't have room to clear off studs. Use the 2 nut trick to unscrew them if studs are stripped. Unscrew left stud bolt through the wheel-well. Other stud you can get from under hood. 7mm socket on the end of bolt lugs

-Then wiggle the alternator out removing it through the wheel-well

Where is the fuse on 01 Cadillac deville for the ecm located

check the manual - if you don't have one see here:
http://www.vadengmpp.com/owners-manual/cadillac/2001-Cadillac-Deville.pdf

Instructions for ECM-reset:
1 Loosen the bolt on the black battery cable until the connector opens enough to come off the battery stud. Place a piece of cardboard between the cable and the stud to ensure no electrical connection remains.
  • 2 Turn the headlights on for several seconds to use up any stored power, then return them to the "off" position.
  • 3 Remove the cardboard and reconnect the battery cable by reversing the previous steps. The ECM has been reset to a clean state.

Suburban towing package fuse box location

2005 Suburban Z71 4WD I had similar situation. No 12 volt positive to 7 trailer. Under my hood at the fuse panel, the red 12v + wire was connected to Stud # 1 which is on the left side of fuse box. There is a square fuse right next to this stud. I put a 40 amp fuse in it. I use this power to charge a battery in a trailer as I am hauling.

How to change broken stud on rear axle 1997 ford explorer

I am assuming you are talking about a wheel lug stud. The lug studs are pressed in from the inner side of the drum or rotor or axle flange depending on how your vehicle is equipped. You have to remove the wheel and drum or rotor to get access to the back side. Drive the broken stud out from the front after you have removed the drum or rotor and set the new one in from the back and tap it into the hole until set as the rest are. If you cant get it set all the way you can finish setting it by pulling it into place when you tighten the lug nuts on reassembly. The part should be under $10.00

I 2005 mercury sable no charing problems until i jump someones car, now the check charging light is on and battery dies. what do you think it is.

Follow the wire from the alternator, it will hook up to a stud, that's the fuse to the alternator, the other end will also hood up to a stud, the fuse if redtaguler looking flat and black, get a test light and check for voltage at each stud, if only voltage at one end, blown fuse, replace it, most auto parts have this fuse.
