My 2004 Jetta is starting to lose power at about 70 mph it's like it wants to stall so I pull over shut it off wait a few mins and crank it back up and its fine what could be causing this

It has only done this twice but when it does it my RPM'S drop and the accelerator doesn't respond the car doesn't cut off but I pull over and shut it off and a few mins later I start it back up and it's fine. Also it died on me in the parking lot and was almost like it wasn't getting enough fuel when I started it back up.

SOURCE: electrical. wont re-start unless cold.

You probably have some corrosion on your battery terminals. Make sure they are clean and connected good and tight.

SOURCE: Engine stalls while driving. Fuel deprivation?

I am having the exact same problem with my VW Touareg @60,000 miles. Two weeks ago and again today it sputters and stalls shortly after starting. I brought it into the shop and they could not reproduce the problem and said it was fine. Also, they had no ideas when I describes the problem. Anyone know what it going on? I am out of warranty.

SOURCE: 2001 beetle stalled and won't start

Check TDC (Top Dead Centre) sensor - ie. crank sensor. Possibly faulty and needs replacement. Could also be a worn out timing belt.

Might be two problems, but one is your igniter in the distributor. The second, the idling problem is either your throttle position sensor, or a vacuum leak. With the engine running , check all hoses for leaks by wiggling them around, while listening for a hissing. Check intake bolts for tightness.

Stalling out at highway speed 1998 chevy metro 1.0

Generally stalling out while cruising could be a crank sensor, fuel pump, or ignition module. Being it only happens intermittantly I would suggest getting it checked out by a pro before you get stranded. This is the type of complaint that can be a nightmare to diagnose so be prepared for an expensive diag
