My peugeot 605 is not shifting gears it remains stuck in gear one. The reverse is working perfectly. The car was previously parked in garage for almost 4 years. Please assist me before i got ripped off

Remove the center console viewing from the passenger side just under the shifter you will see the gear shift silenoid push in the button and now you can remove your key and shift into another gear

Hi Sam ! Have checked whether is there any problem by the where the shifting lever is? might something there is not working properly since is from parking to Reverse. the other option I agree with the CMI Toyota to change the cable. I had the similar case in my garage but with Nissan March and renewed the cable and works fine.

It can be issue with gears or problem with transmission and needs to be rebuilt. Also get the ****** fluid checked. If it's low, then such problems occurs.

The shifter needs to be inspected. If The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

sounds like the shift cable is broken or out of adjustment

I think you need the dealer to look at this.

if check engine light is on then it has codes in it, period. need to get scanned somewhere else

your shifter is out or ajustment
take to garage have them ajust it for 25 - 50 bucks

do the brake lights work? the system has a lock out that keeps you from moving out of park unless the brake circuit is activated, hence no brake lights no park lock out release, if the brk lights do work u most have a stuck or defective park lock out solenoid.
