All your gauges are working. The gas gauge Is also working. When you fill it, you will fill over the limit the fuel level switch will go by a couple of gallons. So the gauge will not drop for a few miles. until you use up the excess fuel

Testimonial: "THANK YOU,THE FUIL GAUGE WAS WORKING,BUT WAY IS TH BATTERY AND OIL GAUGE`S STAYING TA THE 1/2 WAY MARK ?"

Unfortunately ford gauges run (oil, volt) run off the ecm. They run like "Idot lights" ether on or off. They are not Live like a oil gauge or a volt gauge should be.Ford has done it this way form the 90's on up.I have seen a ford volt gauge move a little while jump starting another car, thats about it. Chevy gauges are also run off the ecm but seem to react as if they were "Live gauges".

2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Oil pressure drops below 0 when started then climbs to the 0 mark but never goes higher. Engine seems to be running fine and no warning lights. Can I drive the vehicle 10 miles

indicates a problem oil pressure sender unit
have the oil pressure checked using a mechanical pressure gauge and if OK then replace the sender unit or gauge

Why does oil pressure fluckulates

Well it could be a faulty pressure sensor, or you could really have a problem with the oil pump or engine. As the engine warms up the oil gets thinner and pressure can drop if the engine is worn out.
You can check the oil pressure by using a mechanical gauge and bypass the gauge on the dash.

Why is my oil pressure dropping?

first suggestion is to check the oil level in the sump as this indicates that on start up there is sufficient oil but when the oil galleys are full the pump is sucking air and the pressure drops to zero. The level has to be on the top most fill mark.

2004 Doge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi 190K mile had oil pressure gauge drop to ZERO and check gauges light come on and engine shut down.. Check oil 1 guart low, add oil. let cool. crank up, good gauges drove home 45...

If the valve lifters are quiet you most likely have oil pressure even with gauge showing "0".Sounds like the oil pressure switch going bad.I would try that first.

03 gmc envoy with 5.3 140000 miles. Oil pressure reading fluxuates between 0 and 40. When problem first started pressure read 80. When vehicle was new it stayed at midpoint (40) vehicle has plenty of oil....

There may be a loose wire or the gauge or sending unit may be going bad. The first thing I would do is to hook up a temporary oil pressure gauge, not using the old one at all. With this watch gauge while driving and see what readings you get. If the readings still jump around you have a pump that is getting weak and failing, If that is the case the pump should be replaced, but with high milage you may consider rebuilding the entire engine. If the readings stay normal start checking for a loose wire at gauge or sender. Then check sender, then gauge and replace as needed.

Come to stop 99 Ram oil pressure drops to 0 check gauges light.

Change the oil! The 318Cu in V8 (5.2 liter) engine has a problem with sludge build up on the oil pump pickup tube screen. This engine requires oil changes at or before 3500 miles with a high detergent oil.

Starter/solenoid prob?

Replace the MAF sensor. The starter is overheating due to cranking excessively. It has noyhing to do with the engine staying running. The MAF sensor is located as the first sensor out of air cleaner. It controls the fuel. Good luck and have a safe trip.

Service Engine Soon Light

On all cars and trucks that are 1996 or newer they have a system called obd2 and the computer monitors anything thats plugged into it like sensors. The light is on because your computer has found a problem with 1 or more of them. If you want to know what area is having a problem you need to have the codes read by a obd2 scanner or code reader some auto part stores do this for free or oil
change store or mechanic shop
