I cannot see how one bolt missing from the transmission would make a difference in shifting.Did you check the fluid? After the car has been driven your fluid level should be at the FULL mark. Not above it, or below it. Also,if your replacement trans came from a bone yard, That could be the problem".Most junk yards offer a warranty for a few dollars."

Hi, the problem you are having sounds like the differential needs replacing this can be expensive and hard work but not doing this can cause further damage to your vehicle so its better get it done sooner rather than later.
If on the other hand your only getting a vibration through the steering wheel then this could be that the wheels need balancing.
You should know which of the two problems you have if you need further assistance then just let me know ok

could be the ignition switch. It's definitely an electrical problem, and the ignition switch is the most likely cause.

It's the IOD fuse. Trust me, I just fixed the exact problem on my '98 not ten minutes ago. The fuse is located in the fuse box inside the driver's side door. It will be the fuse on the bottom and toward the front of the panel with a black cover over it. Just pull the fuse holder straight out and snap the hinged cover forward to expose the fuse. Just a standard 10 amp automotive fuse and you're back in business!

When was the last time you had the transmission serviced,
the oil and filter, it should be changed. if you have had that done then take your car to AMCO transmission shop, they probably wouldn't charge anything to check your car.

The cluster work from 2 wires can bus a lot of times is the sensor ground not connected.

My dad has a 96 Ram Cummings and he ended up changing a relay on the fire wall. There are two of them beside each other. If you turn your key on and go under the hood on the drivers side push up the linkage on the bottom of the actuator it should stay in place now go inside and see if it will start. That actuator has to be up or it won't start if it's not going up when you turn the key on it's that relay on the driver side firewall.
