How do I take off
It is not necessary to remove the whole ignition module. Just unscrew the plastic ring around the rubber push button. The battery holder is inside that. Be sure to install the new battery facing the same way the old one is.While the old one is out, check the contacts inside the battery holder for corrosion. If you see any, a Q-Tip and WD40 work well to clean it OFF.

I have an infrared grill...
More than likely it's over fill protection valve (OPD) in the gas tank valve. It will affect the grill's regulator when the tank valve is opened to quickly. It should always be opened VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow).
Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Can't get the heat higher
If the is still "quite low", the problem lies with the grill's regulator and how you turned the tank ON.
To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:
1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.
3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).
4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.
If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's
Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or
hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it,
turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Convert from Gas to Propane
The "nozzles", as you called them are actually the burner orifice. If you remove the burners and look back into the control panel, you should see the orifices that the plumber installed. They unscrew with a nut driver to be removed. Do this one at a time, installing the LP Gas Orifice immediately after removing the Natural Gas one. Be careful not to mix them up and reinstall the Natural Gas ones.
You will also need a LP Gas Regulator/Hose Assembly to connect to the grill tank, that you will be using. You can pick one up at any hardware store or home improvement center that sell grills & accessories. It runs about $30.00.
Below is a link to the Owner's Manual. But, I'm not sure it will be of help in changing the orifices. But, it's good to have for future reference. You can download and print it.

You may have a clogged orifice in the valve. You have to take the side burner apart to get to the valve orifice. Use a straightened paper clip to check for a blockage.

The best way to cook on this grill and how do you
Hi dale37...
The small smoke box on the left is used to put your charcoal/wood in, this is where your heat and smoke will come from to cook your meat.
You will adjust your heat going to the large side by adjusting your air vent/s.
It is meant to cook the meat slowly as to make it "fall of the bone" tender.
Great for doing pulled pork also....just takes lots of time because your slow cooking the meat.
Do not use charcoal/wood under the big grill side unless you plan to stay with and turn the meat to keep from burning it.
Please take time to rate me

Where do you hook up
The side burner ignitor wire connects to the spare lug on the main ignitior module. That one module, controls all the spark ignitors at each main burner and the side burner. When you press the button all ignitors spark at one time. I know it sounds stupid, but that's the way Charbroil's R & D designed it. I guess it saves money.
Hope this helped you to make the final hookup. Happy Grilling!!

I had to change the burner but now the igniter
The
piezo ignitor head my need to be adjusted so that it is closer to the burner. If it is not sparking at all, check for a loose wire at the
piezo ignitor and trace it back to the ignition button. Often times, it will simply lost it's ground. To resolve this, carefully pull the
ignitor wire off the
piezo pin and the push it back on. Do the same thing on the back of
ignitor button.
If none of the above solves the problem, it's time to replace the ignition systems. The parts are inexpensive and can be purchased
on-line directly from Char-Broil
http://www.charbroil.com/Store/ReplacementParts.aspx or from any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. These will be universal fit model
ignitors .
Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.
