I believe you need to un-install the Palm software and then re-install it - make sure you use the Custom Install - as that is where the "Sync to Outlook" box is to be checked

I have a T5 and assume it's the same, but try putting your software install disk in your new PC at work. One of the options is to change sync with Palm Desktop and Outlook.

Is Palm Desktop Required when using Outlook?

to be able to hotsync with outlook u need to install the Palm Dektop, and while installing check the option synchronize with outlook. this will install conduits that make the hotsync with outlook possible, and don't forget that only the conatcts, calendar, memos and tasks are synchronized with outlook, the rest (if it is interisting u ) will be synchronized with the PDS. good luck

Can't synch Outlook Calendar Appointments

Try uninstalling with Windows Uninstall Clean-up tool. XP seems to do a poor job of installing conduits sometimes. I think this might be an issue with the one conduit no being registered correctly in the Windows Registry. You can get this tool here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301 Uninstall Palm Desktop. Then shut down the PC. Then start it up again and re-install Palm Desktop. I hope this helps.

Cannot SYNC Outlook Calendar and Contacts

Probably one of these issues - your data is there but you are looking in the wrong place. I am trying to sync my outlook calendar and contacts via Hotsync on a Palm IIIc. It gives me the status of OK, but nothing shows up on the Palm. I have set the custom on Hotsync to desktop overwrites handheld, but still will not work. Thanks.

How to change the default handler from Outlook to Palm desktop?

Change sync methods from outlook to palm desktop !!!!! Hi, There are two ways to change the sync methods : 1. Insert the installiation disc into the cd rom device , u will get a window called dicover ur handheld , there please check for change ur sync methods , and u will get another window sayin ur currently using microsoft outlook to sync , would u like to change to palm desktop , say yes and then u will get congrats , click on finish . To make sure it is changed from outlook to palm desktop , right click on hotsync manager at the bottom right corner of the pc , make sure only local usb has a check mark and then left click on custom , in custom check and see if u see calender [outlook] or just calender , if u just see calender , then presuming all the data is in handheld , highlight calender click on change and change the action to handheld overwrites desktop then click on ok , do the same for contact , tasks and memo then click on done and perform a hotsync. 2. Insert the disc , open up my computer , then u will see ur cd rom drive , right click on it and left click on explore , u will find yellow folders , please check for a yellow folder called post install , open that up and inside that u will find outlook switcher , left double click on it and follow the same procedure as told in the first step . hi, on ur palm tap on home , u would see hotsync icon tap on that , on the hotsync page , u would see ur name on top or just welcome , make sure u see direct serial on the same page , tap on the top left corner where it says hotsync in words , in the drop down , tap on lan sync prefs , make sure local hotsync is darker in shade. on the pc make sure u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , if not , click on start , click on all programs , choose palm desktop , inside that u would see hotsync manager , left double click on that , if it doesnt appear at the bottom right corner , try 4times , then if it still persists , restart the pc and try again. Once u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , right click on that , left click on setup , left click on local , choose a different com port , reduce the speed to 9600 , click on ok restart ur pc and try hotsyncin , if it doesnt work try the previous step again and do not forget to restart ur pc , and then perform a hs , it will work .... How do I NOT HotSync with Outlook?

Insert the installation CD and select Change your synchronization method. If that doesn't work, or the option is not available, in Windows, click Start>Run then D:\English\PostInstall\OutlookSwitcher.exe /palm (where D: is your CD drive AND your install CD is inserted; also check to make sure the file is at that location).

Won't sync to clean Palm

It may be due to a permissions issue on the workstation running the hot sync program

Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
