Question about Computers & Internet
Many factors can influence synchronization. We'll take you through astep-by-step diagnosis to resolve the most common issues. If you needhelp synchronizing for the first time, see your Palm device's userguide.
These steps will work ONLY with the HotSync software provided by Palm.If you use third-party synchronization software (IntelliSync, iSync,Missing Sync, etc.), contact the third-party developer for assistance.

Ready, set, HotSync! Your final Palm synchronization will copy all data from the old PDA to Outlook. When it's done, load Outlook and check to make sure all your records have arrived safely.
Step 1: Migrate from Palm to Pocket PC
Step 2: Data-transfer tools for PDAsStep 3: Transfer data with PocketCopy
Step 4: Go from Palm to Pocket PC for free
Reinstall Palm Desktop
Step 6: Copy Palm data to Outlook
Step 7: Migrate PDA data with ActivI have just purchased a - b.gif
Step 8: Uninstall Palm Desktop

You need to hotsync your old pda, it creates a backup of the data, then you need to change the hotsync settings so that it replaces all the contents on the pda instead of backing up. This way you will get your hotsync backup into the new pda.

Nope, there's no way to HotSync direct. Just follow coolguy008's instruction.

The easiest way to transfer data is to hotsync to a desktop PC. First, install the proper Palm Desktop and Hotsync manager software by going to http://www.palm.com/us/support/palmdesktop.html. Once the software is installed properly, connect you OLD Tugnsten to your computer by using the sync cable that came with the device. You may need to press the hotsync button on the cable that connects to your device. This will begin the hotsync process and transfer all your data from your device to your PC. Now your PC and old tungsten share the same information.
Next you need to connect you NEW Tungsten to your computer and sync to the existing username you created during installation. This will then make the PC and the NEW device share the same information. You should be done at that point and your new PDA will have the data now.
You can use Palm Desktop to add, remove, or edit any information and sync the changes to your device.
Hope that helps.................

Try first to change the user name follow this:
Changing the user name on your device and assigning a new one at the next HotSync operation may resolve certain HotSync difficulties. If you have two devices synchronizing to the same computer, they must have different user names.
Changing your user name
Good luck.........

Next, you will want
to connect you NEW Tungsten to your computer and sync to the existing

Before instituting your advice I gave the E2 a new user name as the old user name could not be applied to the new E2.Now I can't find a way to change the user name on the E2 to be the same as the existing one on the T2
