I inadvertently set-up my new palm Zire 31 to hotsync with Outlook. BUT I actually just want it to hotsync with my palmdesktop program on my computer. I do not use my Outlook. How do I change the settings so when I hit SYNC, it doesn't go to my Outlook but rather to my Palm on my desktop.?

Re:
Insert the installation CD and select Change your synchronization method. If that doesn't work, or the option is not available, in Windows, click Start>Run then D:\English\PostInstall\OutlookSwitcher.exe /palm (where D: is your CD drive AND your install CD is inserted; also check to make sure the file is at that location).

In my LifeDrive, my VersaMail set-up wasn't quite right. I had my e-mail address in as "name", rather than "[email protected]".
That fixed MY problem.
Others (including me) are having trouble keeping the HotSync set to sync Calendar. It keeps going back to "Do Nothing"
Go to HotSync in the system tray on your PC, right click, select Custom and see if your Calendar (conduit) is set to 'Do Nothing' as an action. I was able to get it to change and work, but just once (so far!!)
Note- this software is works only with windows operating system so, connect your Memory Card, Phone, HDD or any other Storage Device to computer to recover data.
Try uninstalling with Windows Uninstall Clean-up tool.
XP seems to do a poor job of installing conduits sometimes. I think this might be an issue with the one conduit no being registered correctly in the Windows Registry.
You can get this tool here:

Uninstall Palm Desktop. Then shut down the PC. Then start it up again and re-install Palm Desktop.
I hope this helps.
you don't need pocketmirror for zire 72 because palm desktop have outlook conduits to handle outlook synching. inorder for you to sync using outlook you must have the outlook conduits installed which seems you have it already installed. you have to disable some older conduits inorder to avoid conflicts with the conduits. to do these follow these steps:
1. right click on the hotsync manager icon on your system tray
2. click on Custom...
3. select Date Book (Outlook)
4. click on Change...
5. select Do Nothing and set it to default
6. click Ok
7. repeats steps 3-6 for Address Book (Outlook), To Do List (Outlook) and Memo Pad (Outlook)
