Turn it off slowly work the paper out by pulling it slowly from the direction you fed it or by whatever direction you find it will come out the easiest. If it tears you be patient and work out pieces you aren't the first person that ever jammed paper in a fax just take patience to get it all out.

Rint, copy, scan or fax on my x5470 lexmark all in one. I unplug and restart compture and the fax still says paper jam check rollars dont see noughting.

Leading cause of paper jams is debris / foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please try this approach to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
  3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also carefully turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
  4. If feeder is clear, place the printer on the table. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions in the paper path.
  6. Close the printer cover.
  7. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
  8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print again to verify that the problem is fixed.

My fax is having a problem feeding pages through the document feeder, it doesn't always grad the page, and if it doesn't get it, it acts like it has a paper jam, what is causing this?

Open the document feeder. Inside you will find a grey feed roller. Cleaning this roller with a cloth dampened with water will help with these paper jams in the document feeder.

When trying to fax I get an error "open adf cover"...

You should be able to. It sounds like you've got a paper jam in the document feeder. Chances are there was a jam and part of the document (a small peice perhaps) is still lodged in the document feeder unit.

The paper feeder of my canon super g3 jams every time

Yes, there is an easy solution, possibly. Mainly because you say it may do a single job, and then it keeps jamming. Do you see the second sheet jamming in when it is not called for? Anyhow, you may try cleaning the rollers, all of them, like I did here: http://annoyances-resolved.blogspot.com/2009/09/paper-jam-buy-new-laser-printer.html This completely solved my problem of persistent paper jams.

Jamming of paper using the Automatic Document Feeder

You may have a really tiny paper jam. You need to open up unit to get access to feeder properly. Use a torch, jams can be so small you can miss them. cheers lilacgerry

Fax Machine Jams Everytime I Try to Load Paper...

Is it jamming at the document feeder, or in the blank paper tray? You may need to clean the feed rollers. Use a lint-free cloth (not paper) and some alcohol.
