I have a bush lcd32f1080p tv and since electricity ran out one day the tv will not switch on - the standby light comes on then starts flickering but no picture - checked fuse, remote but all ok. Any help would be gratefully received !!

Hi Alex, Red stand by light is not coming on means the power has gone dead. Check the fuse if you can. Replace it with the same rating one. If the set starts working, enjoy watching and if the fuse blows again, consult the TV Tech. Good Luck.
But why all this trouble? Your TV must be in service guarentee. Call the company guys to fix it.
Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. It`s not uncommon to have a faulty unit, try voltage test on battery with engine running and all the electric`s you can switch on it should be putting out 13-15 volts at the battery also check belt tension...
Does the backlight come on? or even flash on and off when the TV is switched on? I presume the standby light is showing 'blue' then. Do you have any sound? Also, when the TV remote is pressed, does the standby light flicker?
Is this the BUSH "LCD32F1080P" ? Bort from Argos for £330 (then £370 now £300) Cos I noticed mine doin that aswell, I thrt it mite be cos im using an old ASDA HDMI cable... but now i saw your post.
