Bush TV MODEL:BTVD91216B is stuck in standby even on/off switch on the set will not turn it off.

If you still have the TV:

Common cure for "stuck in standby"

1. Unplug from mains
2. Press main power switch on/off about 20 times
3. wait about 5 minutes
4. plug it back in and try turning it on as normal (i.e into stand-by then CH+ etc)

It has worked for me on about 8/10 TV sets found stuck this way

My Olevia LCD TV did the same thing. I turned off the back power switch and pulled the power cord as well. Left off for a couple of minutes and then re-connected cord and turned on main switch. I then turned on the front power switch and it come on just fine. These new sets have computer-like guts so you have to re-boot them sometimes. I hope this works for you.

If you unplug the power cord, let it sit for a minute and plug it back in, it should let you turn the tv on by the button at least once. Then you can at least get the remote linked up. Please reply back to your post if this resolved the issue. I would rather you try this first before going further.

Have someone with set unplugged remove the rear cover and get at the DVD unit(usually has a metal shield on it) to see if it can be removed that way--do not force it out!
