Not easily unless they are just under the agitator. A full tear down, remove the case, remove the agitator, lift the drum. If you are lucky, you will find them part way through.
remove the centre of the agitator (Soap dispenser) using a long extension bar and a 10mmm socket remove the bolt holding the agitator in. Pull agitator up and out Remove coins and anything else there replace is the reverse procedure.
If the coin is in between the 2 drums but is free floating you amy be able to get it by removing th bottom drain hose from the drum but this can become a pain unless you are lucky as the coin will move with the machine tipped over. the other way is to remove the heating element while the machine is upright and use a stick or a grabber to get it out.
I take it that you mean that there is monetary coin or coins stuck between the Wash Bowl and the Spin Bowl. If the diameter of the coinage is greater than the Wash Bowl outlet, the coins will never find their way to the emptying pump of the machine, and will continue to rattle around inside. However any of the coins can enter the Wash Bowl outlet this could result in the water pump becoming jammed or damaged requiring replacement. I have solved this problem by removing the top of the machine (HOB) above the washbowl then completely removing the shroud over the Wash Bowl...then replacing the top of the machine firmly. By then turning the machine upside down, the coins will drop out and can be retrieved. Finish the job by returning the machine to the upright position.
yes sounds like the dogs to me. to replace them, remove the cap at the top off of the top of agitator by pulling it up (no tools required) then remove the clear plastic cover by pulling on one of the two tabs in it,remove the bolts using 7/16" socket and pull the agotator out of the machine by gripping it at the bottem.seperate the upper portion of agitator by pulling it upand the dogs will be located under the clear plastic,to replace them seperate the top barrel of agitator a cam that holds all (4) dogs will come out remove the retainer over the dogs install new ones and reassamble in the line up upper barrel and main agitator you will (2) tabs on main agi. and (2) corosponding slots on barrel line them up and snap in place
does the sound happen when its agitating or spinning? or when its draining? if its when it spins or agitates it can be the hub number 8 & 9 in the diagram. if its when its draining it the drain pump which is known for coins getting stuck inside it. to check the pump lean the machine back and you will see the drain pump which is the one with the drain hose connected to it. if this helps please dont forget to rate me.. thanks http://lookup.bellparts.com/diagramenlarge/whirlpool/45568/00079213
They are not in your agitator. they are in the pump on the bottom left if you are standing behind the machine. Be VERY careful. That litle pump seems to be the beginnig of many leaking problems.
Hi,
depending how old you GE washer is will determine how difficult the agitator will be to remove. However, all GE made ( hotpoint, baycrest, some kenmore, moffat, mcClary, etc. ) washer's of the past 50 yrs. or so have agitator's that are pressed onto a drive block and need to be pulled off, sometime's by hand, sometimes by a greater force, i.e. "agi-tamer" or "hammer". ( of course the hammer method will require you to by a new agitator ). The "agi-tamer is a real tool which slides under the agitator and by way of being pressurized with "cold" water ( hot will burst it ) will push the agitator up off the spline/block...don't stand over it looking down or you'll potentially get "knocked out" ha ha !
Hope that help's. At least you know it does "pull off" and it isn't bolted in place.
Good luck,
macmarkus :)
