Horizontal hold? the picture image gets distorted when you first turn it on...the image on the screen jumps similar to the way old sets did and you could correct the issue with a horizontal hold control. This big screen doesn't have this type of control as far as I know It started out as a minor nuisance and it would get better the longer the set was on...now the picture "jumps" all the time. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Vertical jumping may have a vertical hold issue, horizontal may have a horizontal hold issue. Most older tv sets will have some knobs or adjustable screws for vertical and horizontal hold. Turn your set on and check for these knobs on the back of your set and adjust until your picture is in as well as you can get it

When you say "distort the picture", are you referring to dark image? double picture

There are adjustments in the size of the items on a screen under the screen properties, settings. If you right click on the desktop screen and then properties you can get there. There is at least one size which causes a distortion of images being displayed. This may be your problem.

I had same problem.
Narrowed it down to C637 on logic board.
Replace C637 or logic board.

If your computer does not have a video card that supports the correct resolutions for the widescreen monitors, then your picture may get stretched. Much like watching normal tv programs on a an hd set. It will eitther strech or cut off the picture.
Try different settings in you computer display settings.

you need a green CRT thats whay you have the white kind of concave lines with the green screen. You can try adjusting the green screen control but you need anew CRT ( tube) the speaker cover has two plastic plugs that get removed on the lower edge os the grille which covers the two screws that hold the grille on. If you need more assistancr or where to get a green CRT let me know as I have a link that has some green and red Tubes for your model.

Gimbo again. Think LCD damaged will need to repair. Pics. as normal when viewed or printed.

How much to replace screen? Any ideas?

This mis probably a cold solder connection in the horizontal circuitry called the pincussion. Theres a couple of coils and resistors that overheat from time to time and the solder connections get loose. Not really for a handiman has this tv has hi vboltage inside even when turned off. Shouldnt cost an arm ans a leg to fix if the repair shop knows what they Are doing. Good Luck

Wow for the convergence to shift you must have really moved it. First try the manual convergence on the set. if that dosent help then your gonna need a pro to come in and adjust it for you as it takes special equipment and the know how to do this kind of alighnment as its not a consumer alighnment sorry couldnt assist more.
