Looks your power supply quit. Get a new one from vizioparts.com might cost a buck and a half,plus an hour of labor, but 52"? deffinetly worth it! Vizio is good on parts. Make sure, have your serial# ready. some sets have been modified within a year, might get a wrong part without ser#.

Bulb may be bad or the lamp housing is damaged from heat. The plastic housing warps causing the micro switch that tells the tv the bulb is in goes out of alignment and the tv thinks the bulb has been removed
it's probably not the tube. Sounds like something is shorting the B+ from the power supply. Could be the Horizontal Output transistor or the Flyback transformer. Do you know how to find these components? I could be a rectifier diode on the secondary of the power supply as well. If you know what you're doing check those with a meter. If you don't know what you're doing, ask someone who does.
Do yo have the remote? Do you have the manual? Manuals are usually available online.
If you are feeding the Toshiba with cable wiring then the problem is with the Toshiba. Maybe something as simple as the wrong input is selected on the remote control. If you are feeding the Toshiba with audio and video cables then the input to the Toshiba would be suspect. Either cabling (the inputs and outputs are plugged in wrong. If you changed anything I would retrace your steps.
