My Eiki lc-x1100 is not displaying very bright. I bought is used from a university and it only has about 900 hrs. on the present bulb. Is there something else that would make it dim? Don't want to buy another bulb if it is not going to fix the problem.

in primary power-supply circuit there are 2 smd capicitors,1uF and 2.2uF, replace them both by standard radial 105 C electrolytic, also replace the 220uF capacitor that is located beside these 2.

Thermal fuse, located under the lamp might be activated, open lampdoor and push carefully the little black pin. If it gives a click it was
activated due overheating. If not, replace 1uF, 2.2. uF and 220 uF capacitors in primary part of the power supply, it takes some work to get the pcb out of this model !!

That would be colour decay.

check the input settings , it should be at input 1 / analog RGB

go into the menu under settings. should find lamp hours under there. as for the remote, try www.projectordoctor.com

even if the filters are clean, you will still need to blow the dust out of it with canned air. may be overheating. otherwise, sorry to say, it is the ballast.

What you should keep in mind is that this Projector has only got 800 Ansi Lumens wich is not much and to make this worse it is a LCD Projector as well.

Ask your lamp supplier if they can insert a new lamp and check if it gives a better image at all.

If it doesn't , there is'nt really much you can do except buying a new unit with more Ansi Lumens and a better Contrast Ratio as this Eiki's Contrast Ratio is only 250:1 where the standard these days are 2000:1

This is 2000 Hours, 160 Watts, UHP lamp. dont keep it on always.Check the usage and then replace the lamp. It's better to turn off the projector after each class.

The lamp is around $400.00 for Eiki LC-SD15.
