Click on "start" on lower left of screen. Find "control panel" and click on to open. In your list(icons) find "device manager". Click on box with + next to "DVD/CD ROM drives". You will have a drop down of your device(s). If there is a warning ? or !, or yellow triangle, click on that and follow proceedure recommended. If not, you should see "disable". If you see "enable", click on that and exit. Right click on the device again and click on the "properties" tab. You should see "this device is working properly".

TSSTcorp TS-L632 (B) drive is writing CDs, reading DVDs but not writing DVDs.

First check that your drive is indeed a DVD writer and not a 'hybrid' i.e. CD writer and DVD reader. If it is, go on the manufacturer's site and see if they have Win 8 compatible drivers - Win 8 is a fairly new OS so they may not have had time to get a new one out.

HP Dvd1260i Internal Dvd-writer -Dvd-ram/r/rw not writing ,but reads, plays music. Pl. solve the problem (please)!

No PC stated
why post lacking what operating system is there,? too.
no burn software stated. (app)
try imgburn, free, it works like gang busters.
what cant it be?, well lots !
1: bad dvd drive.
2: bad disks, DVD-r works best. or CD-R
3: bad burn program.
4: infected OS, gee if XP its sure is, all are now. its a virus magnet.
5: bad dvd drivers. (if XP?, need sP3 first and then needs the HP drivers, then needs the registry filters cleaned. (all pain here, take great skills to make XP work, and lots of text in a box, endless.

(to solve any problem like this,
replace it is most easy first or most cheaper.
your call that.

My Samsung combo drive does not read or write CD but it plays DVD. It does not have DVD writer only CD writer is there.

It is likely that the laser diode for CD reading and writing has burned out. DVDs use a different laser diode. If this functionality is important to you, replacement is the only option.

My lg dvd writer can able read dvd and cd, but i cant able to write any data.. when i burn data the light in the dvd writer glows for few seconds and then goes off... the writing is jus stuck... wat sort...

try to reinstall the driver and update its firmware if available and test other writing software and other brand of Cd or Dvd. if same thing happens, it appears to be with the drive and you'll need to get a replacment for it

I am having a LG DVD writer GSA-4167B currently stops reading or writing disks after few runs

as with all writers eventually they fault at the lens and it gets out of line and cannot read discs, you can try the usual thing of checking LG for any firmware updates, but first:- Go to my computer>right click>hardware tab>device manager, then down list to cd/dvd drives and click '+' sign and highlight your writer, right click on it and select uninstall. Restart PC and it will be automatically re installed, try again and if no change you will need to replace the drive as they are cheaper nowadays.

Dvd writer wont accept dvd-r

If you have posted the correct model of writer, then it only supports the writing of DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, but CD-R and CD-RW disc writing are supported, and it should play all forms of DVD, so it won't burn DVD-R and RW discs, but if it wont play all types then try a cd/dvd cleaner, but to be honest when writers start playing up the lens is normally faulting and a replacement drive will be required.
