Hi, I've got a 19 inch alba television with built in freeview. It's a replacement model, I had the first one in June until about November when it started randomly going really bright and no matter how much I turned it down in the settings, it just kept getting brighter, it wouldn't stop! It gets so bright and contrasted you can barely see anything and the writing is all fuzzy. And now it's happened again on this replacement which is a newer model. What's happening and can I stop it or do I need a new one? It's getting ridiculous now! Thanks

Yes a replacement will be required. Let's hope, if you bought it through a quality dealer or Argos and get it replaced with a different make/model

I just bought a 19 inch Veon TV with built in Freeview. I can get TV 1 - 4. However, for the rest of the freeview channels - the reception is very very poor. Any reasons for this?

Hi Jane,
The main terrestrial channels generally have a higher signalstrength, so you may not get much better. Try auto retuning again. Also check line of sight of your aerial - does it point at a potential obstruction? (eg:hill or trees being the most likely culprits).

Hi there i have a goodmans gtvl19w19hd 19inch tv and just wonted to know if it has freeview on it any where as i can not seem to access it if it has it ....

Hello. I've just acquired one of these TVs. There is no freeview on this model. However there are Scart and HD connections so it's easy to plug in a freeview or FTA Satellite receiver.

I have an Alba 32880hdf freeview tv. I cannot record freeview programmes to my panasonic NV-FJ 780 vcr which has 2 scart sockets. I have no problem recording the teresteral channels. Can you help pls

Hi Victor,

You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.

To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.

The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know.

BElectric

Pressed re tune on our 19 inch lcd tv with built in free view now the tv will not work tv on standby will not turn on no picture no sound

Hi friend,

Can you mention your product brand and model name so that an exact solution can be provided.

Your new TV has a digital tuner built in, which means it is ready to receive the Freeview signal by simply plugging it into your aerial socket.

I guess you just need to switch it off then unplug all the cable. leave it for an hour then again reconnect them as directed. I hope this will work.

Gud luck.
