Serial numbers are unique to each appliance. If you can link a picture I can probably help you. I have sold every model of Neptune that came out until they were discontinued.

From what I have read, you have a 4.0 cu. ft. machine.
This sounds like a possible Clutch issue. Is the machine model an FAV6800A or FAV9800A? When the washer is banging around do you take unbalance errors such as dC or uC? Do you want to DIY the fix or call in a repair service. If you could confirm your machine model number......Rich

replace water valve in the washer. Serial number is needed to find the correct part number. It's likely 22003834, but call any parts supplier with model/serial numbers to verify.
Who told you the transmission is defective??? I have worked on my Neptune and it has a belt going from the motor to the drum - there is no transmission. I don't know the model number of my washer, but it is a Maytag Neptune from 2002; I think they all have used the same basic design without a transmission ever since they came out.
