85% of paper feed problems are caused by worn rollers . The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the issue will cease. If you plan to keep your printer,

Replace the pick-up and feed rollers.

Metal Tab Separation- Pull out your paper tray and examine either end where the paper sits in. If any of the corners are held down by metal tabs, this is your paper feed system. Chances are, you only have one rubber roller or one set of rollers arranged along side of each other. Reach in where the tray goes and feel up. You should feel some rollers. They might be completely round, or they might be shaped like a half moon. Clean whichever part of them you can with the solution, and this should stop your paper jams. It might be necessary to turn them, but don't force them if they don't move freely.

Pickup Roller and Separation Pad-

If your printer uses this paper feed system, you should see a small piece of flat or slightly curved rubber or cork. It would be towards the end of the paper tray, or deep inside the paper loading cavity on top loaders. This 'separation pad' rubs against the paper feed roller, so if you find the pad, you've found the roller. Clean it and your jams should stop.

Three Roller Paper Separation System- Pull your paper tray out, and look for a roller on either end of it. If you find one, clean it. Then look inside the printer where that roller would rest with the paper tray inserted. You'll find another paper roller there. Clean this one also. Finally, look further back or closer to the front of your printer (depending on which way your paper feeds) to find another roller or set of rollers. Clean all of these, and your paperfeed problems will go away.

Lexmark t614 manual feed how it works

  1. Push the lower release latch. The multipurpose feeder door drops open.
  2. Pull out the metal bar in the recessed area on the multipurpose feeder, far enough to accommodate the paper you will be using.
  3. Slide the paper width guide to the far right.
  4. Prepare the print material for loading:

      • Flex paper or fan envelopes back and forth. Do not fold or crease the paper. Straighten the edges on a level surface.
      • Hold transparencies by the edges and avoid touching the print side.
      • Fan the stack of transparencies to prevent jams.
      • Be careful not to scratch or leave fingerprints on the transparencies.

  5. Use the stack height limiter as a guide for stack height when loading print materials.
  6. Load one type of print material in the multipurpose feeder. Do not mix types.
  7. Slide the paper width guide over until it fits snugly against the side of the print material.

How to print #10 envelopes

Here's the link to the Lexmark website to download the Lexmark C543 User's Guide. http://www.lexmark.com/publications/pdfs/2007/c54x/v14841473_en.pdf. There are two ways to print #10 envelopes, using the Multipurpose Feeder or the Manual Feeder. If you don't have the Mulitpurpose Feeder, you have to use the Manual Feeder and feed the envelopes one at a time. Scroll to Page 44 for MPF instructions or Page 46 for Manual Feeder instructions. Hope this helps.

How do I have printer switch from empty paper tray 1 to the full 550 paper tray 2

Hi. You need to do tray linking. When one linked tray is empty, paper feeds from the next linked tray. The size and type settings for all trays must be set from the Paper Menu. To set the paper type or size:
1. On the home screen, touch Menu button
2. Touch Paper Menu
3. Touch Paper Size/Type.
Note: To link the multipurpose feeder, Configure MP must be set to Cassette in order for MP Feeder Size or MP
Feeder Type to appear as a menu item.
4. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same size paper from all paper sources to be linked.
5. Touch the right or left arrows to select the same type paper from all paper sources to be linked.
Note: When the Size and Type settings are the same for any trays, the trays are automatically linked.
6. Touch Submit.
Submitting changes appears.
7. Touch Home to return to the home screen.
Hope this helps.

What does it mean by Load MP feeder letter?

That means whatever you are trying to print is set to feed from the MP tray or Multipurpose Tray. The tray that folds out that is used to feed thicker paper or envelopes in. Just check your print setup screen and tell it to feed from the lower tray or tray1. If that is what you were trying to do.

Tray selection issue: Documents may be setup to print to the MP feeder, (multipurpose feed, not manual feed), but the printer will only pull from tray 4. I'm not sure why, earlier this week it would o

The usual reason that the printer will ask you to load paper into the MPF is that the green paper guides in the paper tray is not clicked in the right position. It only needs to be slightly out of position to give the wrong paper size info to the printer. The easiest way to confirm if the guides are correct is to print the Menu Settings Page. Check that the paper sizes listed in that report are the same as the actual paper sizes in each tray. If it's different you need to adjust the guide correctly. It's remotely possible that the sensing switch is faulty but it's more likely that the paper tray guide isn't latched in it's correct position.

Go into the paper menu and set the multipurpose feeder paper size to letter. It will work if the paper size is set correctly for the MPF.
