Pictures on laptop

There are many excellent free photo-editing programs available. One of the most popular is Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ). Another is the GIMP ( http://www.gimp.org ). This one is more powerful but as is often the case with such things, more complex and harder to learn.

The gold standard is Photoshop ( http://www.adobe.com ) but it's far from free.

How to edit picture?

Hi

You don't say which operating system you are using.

Photo Editing requires Photo Editing Software.

To do basic photo editing (cropping, rotating, flipping, adjust brightness, adjust contrast, adjust image size, adjust colo(u)r, adjust exposure, adjust size, adjust red eye) you can use free, built-in software that comes bundled with Windows and Microsoft Office such as: Paint, Microsoft Picture Viewer and Windows Photo Gallery.

In increasing order of editing functions:

Windows Photo Gallery: Fix > Auto Adjust, Adjust Exposure, Adjust Colour, Crop Picture, Fix Red Eye

Microsoft Office Picture Viewer: Picture > Brightness & Contrast, Colour, Crop, Rotate, Flip, Red Eye Removal, Resize, Compress.

Paint: Image > Flip/Rotate, Resize/Skew, Crop, Invert Colours, Adjust Attributes, Clear Image, Opaque.

In Paint you can also use additional tools to manipulate the image or add or delete shapes, text and colour (with a selection of writing or drawing implements): Free Form Select, Select, Fill with Colour, Magnifier, Brush, Text, Curve, Polygon, Rounded Rectangle, Ellipse, Rectangle, Line, Airbrush, Pencil, Pick Colour, Eraser/Colour Eraser.

In Windows Photo Gallery you can view and edit the same image in either of these 3 programs by clicking Open.

For more advanced photo editing, you can use the bundled software that comes with digital cameras such as:

Adobe Photoshop Elements

ACDSee

Picasa

Photo Studio

For more advanced, professional standard photo editing you must buy expensive Photo Ediiting and Graphic Design software such as:

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe LightRoom

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe InDesign

CorelDRAW

Corel Painter

I hope this helps.

I want to edit photos but would like simple instructions. Main instructions too complicated to understand

Sorry, but since you didn't tell us what photo editing program you want to use, we can't advise you. However, simple photo editing such as red-eye removal, cropping, etc. is pretty easy. The more technical stuff is usually included in the "help" section at the top of your computer screen. The best advice I can give you is to make a digital copy of the pic you want to edit first, so that any changes you make won't affect your original.

There is a lot of red eye on the photos ,please help.I cannot find a red eye reduction button on the camera.

I don't know whether this camera has red-eye reduction. It is likely to be found in the setup for the flash, or as a toggle for the flash setting. On some cameras, you toggle through the available flash settings until the icon (usually a lightening bolt) has an eye next to it.

Red eye reduction is not perfect even if the camera offers it. You get a much better solution by using a photo editing program in the computer to remove red eye from your shots. Many such programs have a function just for this that works almost automatically. You may have gotten a photo editing program with the camera, but there are many others downloadable for free on the net, try www.download.com.

I want 2 edit my photo

Exactly what kind of editing are you wanting to do in Photoshop?
When you first start the program and open the image file you can start editing any way you see fit, whether it is cropping your image, removing red-eye, resizing and adjusting colors and so on.

Where can I edit my photos?

There are a number of applications which you can use to edit your photos. For better results I would recommend you using a Photoshop application. However for simple cropping and fixing the red eye on the photo you can always use Windows picture viewer and click on the edit this photo option.
