With our panasonic DMC-LZ5, first we got a message saying replace batteries, which we did (with new ones). Now, the screen is all white with a message saying please turn camera off and then on again. We've tried several sets of batteries, and turned it off and on again. The picture of the battery is all in white, with a line through the middle. Any ideas on how to reset?
I like my dmc lz5 very much, durable, trustable...
First time same problem here,
New batteries, they work fine in flashlight, even for longer time, but dmc-lz5 displays replace batteries.
After dismounting back panel, I have found inside a button-battery 1 mm thick 6mm diameter,
it turned out it is a special, rechargeable one, it gives 3 v, but it can use a charging voltage as low as 2.8 v.Earlyer I tought this was the problem- because I have used the camera with rechargeable batteries, (those give 2x1.2=2.4 v , less than 2.8 ).I bought alkalines, giving 2x 1.5 = 3 v , but after about 50 pics taken the problem is here again. Now i try to replace the button battery (type panasonic ml-614), hoping this is a problem.
Anyone having some solution or similar case?
Thank You

Although it's not the newest device out there, an SD card of 4gb would be more then suitable for it, check the manual for more info about the limitations which your device has: Panasonic DMC LZ5 Manual
Try replacing the button battery first and see if that helps...Some batteries simply just do not last as long as other brands. Try switching brands (for the regular AA batteries) and see if this also helps..
Cleaned is not the problem. Most of the time it is poor battery. Just becuase the battery says it is charged means nothing. These cameras take a great deal of power compared to other AA devices.
