We would be happy to help get that fixed right away. Thefirst thing we want to ensure is that all connected equipment is on. Check whattype of cable is used to connect the TV to the receiver. If you are using a CoaxCable to connect the receiver to TV1, check the receiver's back panel forthe output name. If your receiver has a "TV CH 3/4 out": TuneTV to channel 3 or channel 4, if it is labeled "HomeDistribution": Tune TV to channel 62 or 75. If using non-Coax(RCA, Component, or HDMI) to connect receiver to TV1, cycle through theinputs until picture appears; Most TVs have a "TV/Video","Input", or "Source" button either on the TV or theremote that came with the TV. We want to ensure that the TV and the receiverare connected properly, please visit this link to for more information on howit should be connected: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/setup-receiver-totv.Once we have made sure everything is connected properly, unplug receiver for 10seconds then plug it back in, this will reset the receiver. If we are still notgetting a picture connect another component (VCR, DVD Player, etc.) to the sameTV, using same cable, same input, and same channel to see if it works. If youget a picture with the other component give us a call at 1-800-333-DISH (3474)for some additional troubleshooting. If it doesn't work with the othercomponent then replace the cable that was used.

We hope these steps resolve the issue. We want to thank you for being a valuedDISH Network customer!

  • Teach Learning Commands
  • Receivers: 222k and 722k
    1. Ensure the DISH Network remote control is programmed to the desired remote address to operate the DISH Receiver.
    2. Place both the DISH Network remote and the original equipment's remote control on a flat, stable surface.
    3. On the DISH Network remote, press and hold the mode button for your equipment for about three seconds until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release it. Your selected mode button will blink.
    4. Select the type of learning you wish to perform:
      • Hybrid Mode
        1. Press and release RECALL, then hold the RECORD button for about three seconds until the mode button is lit again. The button remains lit while learning.
        2. Point the front of the original equipment's remote to face the small square (IR window) on the front left-hand side of DISH's remote. Remotes must be within 4 inches of each other.

Vip 211 will not accept remote commands.

Hi orly227217 my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network customer service. And when the receiver is not accepting commands from the remote we need to re-program the remote to the receiver. What we do first is go to the VIP 211 and select the "system info" button and then we want to press the "menu" button. Then you will see the remote address in the white box at the bottom of the screen, then press and release sat button 1 time then press the record button 1 time. After that you will have seen the remote address change.

RCA L32HD31R/Dish Network Remote Code Problem

The word from RCA technical support is that the remote for the L32HD31R operates on a different frequency and there is currently NO universal remote on the market that will work with the set. They say that they have plans to market a universal remote and that they are working with other manufactuers of remotes but there is no resolution or time frame available. In short, you will have to use two remotes and keep checking the RCA website for a breakthrough.

I'm not sure that I would have bought the TV if I'd known.
