2007 Equinox battery drain. YES we replaced the battery and it changed nothing. The battery is not holding a charge. YES all visible lights, doors, power is off.
When placing the test light on the battery the indicator light comes on. When taking out the Bat 1, Bat 2 and ECMB fuses, the light dims but does not go off. These are the only fuses in the under hood fuse block that made a difference with the battery tester light.
I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks
BTW, disconnected the wires to the alternator, and the test light still came on.BTW, disconnected the wires to the alternator, and the test light still came on.
Did not take it out to be tested, but disconnected all the wires, however, the test light still came on! ThanksDid not take it out to be tested, but disconnected all the wires, however, the test light still came on! Thanks

Are you sure you have the belt installed correctly? Not hard to make a mistake. Did you get any oil or fluid on the belt? Did you change belt tensioner at same time? Usually a good idea.
Yes,is possible.Because it'son when sitting still/not driving.Along with a lot of other things, like the cronemeter/clock.This stuff will drain a battery after sitting for a good while.Slowly, but still a drain. Most likely the battery has been in use for a good while and may need replaced, but if you don't wanna replace the battery, just disconnect the alarm system or pull the fuse from the panel to deactivate it.
First are you sure the alternator is charging the battery ?
If it is, someone will need to pull fuses and disconnect major circuits until you find the drain. It could be a simple relay, or a short to ground in the harness somewhere.
I haven't heard about problems like that other than in a flood damaged vehicle.Did you buy it new?
To check for a battery drain yourself, disconnect the battery large cable and place a 12 volt test light between the cable and the battery positive. If you see a bright light on the test light you do have a vehicle drain,if it's dim don't worry about it.Now,if the light is bright pull one fuse at a time until the light goes dim, this will be the circuit draining and you can now trouble shoot that circuit.Don't cause a bright light by opening a door or turning on the key.DO NOT TRY AND START THE VEHICLE while the test light is hooked up.
Usually a sign of something draining the battery. The machine test probably showed the battery could hold a charge and the alternator was charging the battery. You may need to have someone check for a power drain. When the key switch is off, there may be a weak short to ground or a relay or component that is using power.
You need to make sure that your getting good conection to your battery. If your alternator is fine, as you stated, you might not be getting a good conection. Your alternator may be keeping your battery alive just enough when your driving. Check all connections. Hope this helps.
BTW, disconnected the wires to the alternator, and the test light still came on.
Also, the alternator voltage is 14.3 thanks again!
