PS3 problem I went on a 1 week spring vacation and left my playstation untouched in my room. When i got back, and i wanted to get a good gaming time in, I turn on my playstation to find a slow start-up, and once it got to my backgroud theme, it froze without loading up my options. Everytime i turn on the playstation, it repeats the same thing. It starts up with the goofy music being played when you turn it on, then there is a hitch in the song thingy. It seems to be cut apart for a split second, which suggests to me something is obviously wrong. My biggest thing would be identifying what the problem is, and because i didn't get the 2 year warranty, eventually get it repaired. Any idea what it could be?

Went on vacation and left the PS3 powercord unplugged. Now it doesn't work, could it be the cable?

Hey there, a couple of things to verify here to get your ps3 back up and running. Do not worry about leaving your ps3 the whole week with the powercord unplugged, this is OK and should't have affected anything negatively.
1) Make sure that the powercord is well plugged on both ends: ps3 AND in the wall.
2) Make sure that the SWITCH is turned on (in the back of the ps3, there is also a POWER switch I/O). Turn it on by pushing on the I.
3) If it's still unpowered, try plugging the ps3 itself somewhere else in the house (to make sure it's not the power outlet)

PS3 60GB SWICTHES ON THE GREEN LIGHT COMES ON 3/4 SECONDS LATER FLASH OF A YELLOW LIGHT AND THEN STRIGHT TO STANDBY RED

How to fix ps3 yellow light of death 3. tips first

1)Turn off your playstation 3. If you think your ps3 has been caught by the heat, then wait at least 20 minutes and put it back on again

2) Check if there's any loose cable.

3) Try to put out your playstation's hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results.

If this did not work, then there are 2 options left for you on how to fix your ps3 safe and fast!

Send your playstation 3 back to Sony

You might think that this is an great option, but take a look at some statistics. Most users had to wait at least 4-6 weeks before they had their Console back. And also, if your warranty is expired, you have to pay a big fat $150,- to get the job done! Does this still sound as a good option?

Ps3 wont turn on no power at all... no

Hi,

Most of the times, you're going to find that this is due to over heating. If you've been playing for a while, shut down your Playstation, and let it sit for about 1 hour. It's best if the room is cooled off as well.If the room is hot, you may want to put a fan blowing toward it, or turn up your Air Conditioning.Check the back of your unit, and make sure that all of the cables are plugged in. What you're going to want to do is take out each one, and blow the inside of the ports with compressed air.

To play it safe, take out the Playstation's hard drive, and place it back in.Once the 1 hour is up, and the Playstation hasn't been running, turn it back on, and see if everything is working. If it is, you're good to go! If it isn't, you may want to consult with Sony.

Thank you !!
