White spots on screen i have changed the lamp

It's probably you have a busted DMD chip, have your technician replace that, better yet buy a new projector because replacing that chip costs almost a brand new unit.

The projector is not giving a bright picture. The image on the wall is very dim

I you were using the projector in the same room with the same ambient light and if you notice this problem try increasing brightness, if still the brightness is not sufficient then it is time to replace the projector lamp.

If you have moved your projector to a different place, check if the existing light / ambient light in that room is making the image look dull / not so bright. If this is the case, try to reduce the ambient light

The image is very dim, even on maximum brightness. We are considering replacing the bulb, but bulbs for this projector are very expensive and we suspect that since there is some image, the bulb is not the...

Yes, as bulbs age they will begin losing brightness. Most projectors have a bulb life hour clock, that measures the number of hours a bulb has been used. Usually you can pull that up within the menu of the projector. Also that particular model has what is called "Eco-Mode" and when engaged dims the bulb by 25% to cut down on power consumption.

Typical life for a lamp in that projector is:

3000 hours on Normal mode
6000 hours on Eco mode

You can expect a brightness loss of 50% when you are approaching end of a lamps life.

You can adjust the brightness through the user menu, under the picture option. You might want to look at your bulb. It might be time to replace the lamp.

Canon XEED SX50 Multimedia Projector - Poor light on screen

the canon xeed sx-50 should beside its noisyness give a brilliant bright picture. if not check if there ist something wrong with the lamp? is it aged? did you buy it used? the lamp counter can be easily reset... the only reason for a faint picture could be the lamp's age or tons of dust inside the matrix :)

Proector image is dim

I have changed the bulb on my LG projector recently. I found the rotating colour wheel to be full of dust. Upon opening the cavity where the light is redirected and reflected onto the imager, I saw all mirrors also had a layer of dust. I don't think it was so dirty that it affected the brightness of the image, but I cleaned it anyway using an earbud. I cleaned both sides of the color wheel as well. You need to be careful in working with the optics of the projector!

Optoma EP732H Projector - Image is Whitewashed

Hi tourblack

I wouldn't think that this is a lamp issue , as the lamp will make the picture fade away in brightness and wouldn't look white washed.

Check if the brightness is set to 50% and the contrast on 50% as well.

This could be a colourwheel that is in need of replacement.

Bright yellow

I can't imagine a setting that would cause this - It sound more like some sort of fault with the projector's blue LCD panel. (The image is created from a mix of red, green and blue light. If you loose the blue, everything will look yellow.)

Is it capable of showing any shades of blue?

Using any graphics or photo-editing software, create a solid blue image (R=0, G=0, B=255 in your colour settings) and if possible, display this full-screen. Is there any output from the projector at all when you do?

If not, it sounds like it need a professional repair.

Dim Image

Check you manual for a dual brightness control that may be activated or even stuck at low level. The manufacturers web site may have a technical help team to consult - have you tried?
